Backstory- jughead has stage 4 cancer and it has gotten so bad that it has become untreatable so he's spending his last few days at his hospital room with his son and his wife.

"Daddy look what I write!" His son who is 4 says getting up on the bed and showed him his writing as jughead weakly reaches for him and pulls him down and lays him down with him, "wow, will these are amazing! I better see one of your books in a library one day" jughead says flipping through the pages. "You know how much daddy loves you right?" He asked him while stroking his head "yes" he says, "daddy can we play at the park tomorrow?" Will asked jughead "Yea of course we can" jughead says as Will looks up and smiles "I love you daddy" will says hugging jughead and kissed his cheek as tears fills jughead's eyes "I love you two will" jughead says kissing his head as betty walks out of the bathroom.
"Hey my little monkeys what are we doing?" Betty asked "spending time with daddy! Come here mommy!" Will says.
The jones family had family cuddle time first thing in the morning and before bed before they found out jughead's cancer as gotten bad. "I don't know, i don't want to hurt daddy" betty says as jughead looks at her, "come here love" jughead says as betty let's out a sigh and smile and lays down with them on the bed. "I love you...so much" jughead says as betty smiles and tears forms in her eyes, knowing any day now he'll go to sleep just like every other night but won't wake up in the morning and that hearing him saying " I love you" would be the last time. "I love you too..so much.." betty says as jughead smiles as they both lean in for a kiss.
"Can you guys go and get me some breakfast please?" Jughead asked as betty got up "okay come on let's go get daddy breakfast" betty says lifting up will and set him down "I'm going to get daddy something yummy!" Will exclaims happy as jughead reaches for bettys hands "thank you" he says as betty gives him a weird look before smiling and leaning down and kiss him once more before going after will.
He hears the door click. He closes his eyes and looks up and opened them as tears rolled down the side of his face and landed onto his ears. He closes his eyes and smile. He can hear wills first cry, he can hear wills first words . He can see wills first steps. And he can still here Betty's vows in the back of his head. "I love you guys..thank you.." was the last thing he said before the monitors go off
flat lining. The doctors burst into the room and had read that he was DNR. They stood around his bed.
"Daddy look we got you something good!" Will says walking in with a bag and ran over to he bed. "Daddy look" he says climbing on to the bed. "Daddy wake up and eat" Will says as betty walks in to see that the monitors had turn off, she looks at the doctors as they looked at her and shook their heads. Tears rolled down her cheeks, her attention was brought back to Will trying to wake jughead up. "Daddy wake up" will said shaking jughead as Will starts giggling "mommy daddy's being silly" Will says turning back and looks at betty who then walks up and picks him up. The doctors eyes filled with tears at how clueless little Will was.
"Mommy tell daddy to wake up and eat" Will says as betty cries even harder, "what's wrong mommy?" He asked wiping away Betty's tears. As she turns around and walks out of the room with her son in her arms. She sat him down on the chair outside of the room. She kneels down In front of him. "Why isn't daddy waking up?" Will asked betty as betty tires her hardest to hold herself together "Baby.."betty says as Will sat down "yes mommy?" Will asked "daddy..daddy isn't going to wake up" betty sniffs "you remember heaven?" Betty asked him wiping her tears away which was useless since more tears fell from her eyes. "Like what we read about?" Will asked as betty nods her head "yes like we read about..daddy is up there now..he's with papa, granny and hotdog now.." betty says as wills eyes filled with tears "but..I don't want daddy to be gone yet.." Will says his bottom lip quivering and his eye brows frowning before bursting into tears and began to sob, hearing Will sobbing broke betty down as she began to sob with him, she stood up and picked him up. "I know I know baby...but he's in a better place now" betty says holding him tight in her grasp as he sobbed loudly into her chest as betty looks up as tears streamed down her face, her jaw dropped trying to in hale air but instead gasps came out as she began to sob.
11 years later
Will is now 16 years old. And yet he still remembers his fathers death like it was just yesterday. "And now pronouncing a favorite world wide best selling author and wrote and published by the youngest we have in our town! Will Forsythe Pendleton Jones the 4th!" The mayor says as Will walks out on to the stage as the crowd cheers him on. "Thank you thank you!" Will says walking out. "When I was 4 my father passed away due to the cancer spreading to his lungs and him becoming untreatable.. and I remember just before he left, I showed him a little book I had written about how much I love him. And he told me 'I better see one of your books in a Library one day' and well...if only he could see me now..that I did..only 16 and is the best heart thrilling author world wide. If it weren't for my mother and my father I wouldn't be here pronouncing my new book 'Breakfast In Bed' " Will says as the crowd cheers and Betty sat in front row with tears rolling down her face. And he knew that his dad was right besides and was so proud of him.
