For the entire week, April has been busting her head compiling the works. It felt like a smoke would come out of her ears at any moment now. It wasn't only because of the amount of reports she had to compile by tomorrow evening. April unfortunately was a very meticulous person, while other people would scan through the report to find parts that interest them, she would read through everything with detail. She didn't know if she had to submit the compiled report or not but the report that was given to her, filled with mistakes.

Moreover, the details in the report look very similar with the old record she read before. There was only a slight change of words and numbers. 'Number... How did this get here? Am I stupid or am I look too much into it?' It was 8pm already. There were three files left, it would take her three more days to rewrite all of those reports. She messaged her tired head before deciding to get some coffee and snacks.

Her office room was left lit when she left to the office canteen. Someone saw the room as taking his leave from the record room. He was walking to the elevator when he thought someone might have forgotten to switch off the light. He strode through the door and looked around for anyone. He couldn't find a soul but heard some humming in the canteen. He didn't go there, instead walked through the cubicles and saw one messy table with stacks of report files. Then, he noticed the computer with an open file. The man took a seat, read through the file on the computer.

April was munching her favourite matcha cookies in the canteen. She left after finishing her break. While complaining about the extra need for coffee on her table she didn't want to accidentally spilled her drink there, she fidgeted with her phone. Her hand held on the chair and  pull it but it didn't move as if someone had sat on it. She moved her focus away and saw a pair of orange sapphires stared back at her.

Who? April started to break into cold sweat from his stare. The man had a suppressing aura, a large build and flaming orange hair with strips of white hair. 'How can someone have a fire on their hair?', April thought but she couldn't say it under his scrutiny. The man stood up without breaking an eye contact with her. He was a head taller than her. She felt small under his gaze but refused to show more submission. She had gone this far without tucking her tail between the legs, she refused to lose to his stare.

"What's your name?"

April took a second to process his question.

"April... Rainbow"

"Are you going to submit these files?"

"No, Mr..."

She gave him a questioning look. 'Who is this? Why do I feel like I've seen him somewhere?' The man wriggled his full eyebrow, his eyes looked amuse. April felt a sudden thud in her chest. He had a refined look, now she relized, his build looked much bigger and sturdier. 'What happened?' April eyes started to flicker. The tension in the air has disappeared but April still felt suffocated. The man smirked, she sharpened her stare.

"Send your reports to my office when you're finished but don't tell your manager about this. Submit the report files as they're given to you."

It took another minute while her eyes flicked and slowly widened as she came to a realization. April suddenly remembered this man. He was there in the game but not important, a side character from Onyx route, the executive of finance department of the Jacker Co., Alabaster Gems Jacker.

" Y-yes, Mr Alabaster."

The man's smirk widened. April didn't know what had gotten into her but she really wanted to smack that smirking face. He nodded and excused himself out while April watched his back getting further away and disappeared into a lift. Of course, he looked back at her and gave her a final smirk. April couldn't help but to give him a last sharp stare. That night April worked extra hard while remembering his annoying face, she wasn't sure about the reason but he annoyed her. Whatever it was, she wanted to get him on her side no matter what. She had one year to get his attention. April had long decided he would be her life line.
