Two weeks had passed, her office section became more barren than ever. First, it was Madam Rui absence. Two days later, Jack was gone and slowly a several other cubicles emptied as well. Janet was worried about them and confused by the sudden change. April felt sorry for her but she couldn't say anything just yet. Alabaster had been taking care of everything behind the spotlight. April wasn't sure what happened to Madam Rui and the other but she knew better to never get into that guy's bad side now.
The entire finance department had an emergency meeting that weekend. Alabaster sat in the head seat with his secretary and close aides sat on both sides. April and Janet were the only staff from their section left while the other only lost a few people. The meeting ended after a long day with several clarifications; those that went missing from work were fired, the filtered reason of their dismissal, new rules, structural changes and few words of threat for those who survived the purge. It was an unpleasant atmosphere to say the least.
Most that were completely unaware of the situation were shocked. So far so good but April felt something unmatched. The last few monthly reports were not mentioned as if there was nothing wrong with it. They only focused on these two months' report, the one she did and the other one before. She decided to keep quiet, though.
Before she realized it, Alabaster moved his sapphire eyes to hers. His eyes looked softer now. 'Yeah! You own me some good shit!' She didn't say it explicitly but her silvery gray eyes stared hard at him. Those were words exchanged between their eyes while the whole meeting proceeded.
Alabaster knew he had stared too long at her but he wasn't trying to turn his eyes away anyway. This woman helped him. Although, it was unknown if things would go differently if he didn't walk to her table that day. She would feel disgusted with him if she knew he had her investigated thoroughly. But she wasn't an exception for the investigation. 'She's a good one.' Alabaster thought unconsciously. When she pulled her eyes away to talk to the girl beside her, he raised his brow and frowned annoyingly. His secretary, Jessie noticed the changes on her boss' normal stone cold expression. 'Oh~ What's this?'
By the end of the meeting, April and Janet weren't sure if they heard the right thing. Alabaster had them start training to be a manager with an excuse that he didn't want to accept any newcomer for the time being. April felt tired already.

June was hanging out with Onyx at his manor. They were having movie night but he mind drifted somewhere. He had been missing his sister for a while. She promised to go out on a dinner date with him but it had been a while ago. Sure they talked to each other but it was only through text. She had been too busy to pick up her phone. He was getting more worried each passing day. 'What if she passed out from overworking?'
Onyx sat beside him with his arm wrapped around June's shoulder. He knew June was worried about April and so was him. She never told them her new home or workplace addresses. He didn't want to act recklessly on her, yet. They couldn't do anything but to endure this restlessness. Onyx rubbed June's shoulder.
"What's with that face? I thought we're having a happy time together."
June looked at him with his puppy eye and snuggled closer to him, resting his head on Onyx's shoulder.
"Sorry. I was just worried about my sister. She had been so busy now. We can't even have a proper conversation."
Unsure how to consult his lover, Onyx could only hold him. He was contemplating whether he should put a tail on April or not. He was at the end of his rope now, if April kept on being silent, he would get someone to follow her around.
"Ping!"
June's eyes lit, within a flash he took out his phone. A message from April. He couldn't conceal his huge smile and sparkling eyes.
