The room was dim. Two figures visibly holding each other sat on the sofa at the centre of the room. There was silence after a while from the sobbing from the woman that laid on the man's shoulder. He didn't know the time of the day but he didn't mind it. She had cried to her sleep and he wanted to keep her rested. He rubbed her back and sometimes kissed her crown.
The moment felt like the time had stopped. This moment, Alabaster would treasure forever. April came to him. She would always... Alabaster closed his eyes to calm himself down. He was about to think something dangerous. Something he knew she wouldn't like. This time, he would keep his reasons and emotions in check. He reminded himself repeatedly.
June was checking on April's room and noticed the room was empty. He guessed somewhere she would go and looked at Alabaster's room on the second floor, his door slightly opened. He was about to knock on his door to ask for April when he saw the file on the floor. He picked it up and noticed a picture in the file. It was a page after the parental information page.
It was a picture of an old woman. She had brunette hair about a medium length and a pair of gray eyes. She looked like she was in her 50's but the age stated was 110 years old. There was no way she was still alive, he thought. But it stated she was still alive and well. They attached her public contact at the bottom of the page. "Unbelievable...", he whispered in disbelief.
He looked inside the room and saw the couple hugged each other. He was a bit worried about her but it seemed everything went back again. It was a bit frustrating to be honest but he didn't have a right over it. He just hoped Alabaster wouldn't take the opportunity.
Alabaster noticed June when he stood by the door and read the file. 'That's rude...', he thought but June raised the file for him to see and showed him the old woman's picture. His footstep was silent as he approached the couple and put the file on the table. June looked at April huddled inside Alabaster's embrace. She seemed tired and slept soundly. There were trails of tears and her nose was red. She always looked so adorable no matter what.
June moved his eyes towards Alabaster and glared sharply at him. The man could only receive his disdain. After petting her softly June left the two alone and closed the door. Alabaster didn't move his eyes from April. He stroked her hair softly. Sometimes, he played with the hair lock. It was so soft and felt good to touch. He was enjoying her soft hair when April slowly opened her eyes.
Soft groans escaped from her lips and snuggled deeper into his neck. Alabaster froze for a second and let her enjoy the comfort of his warmth. A familiar woody and aromatic herbal cologne slowly registered into April's smell sensory. She loved the smell of the cologne. Whenever the smell passed her senses, she imagined a beautiful and peaceful greenery scene and there would be someone standing in the middle of the scene.
She loved it. Alabaster could hear her snuffling his shirt. A small chuckle escaped his mouth. He just loved everything the adorable little one did. It was just too cute. She stopped suddenly when she heard a low chuckle near her ear. Slowly raising her head, she came face to face with the handsome man that she had grown to like. A red blush started to colour her face as she realized their closeness.
Her eyes flicked and then, she lowered her head quickly. This embarrassing intimate position was something she never did. 'What if Al thinks I'm a creep that likes to sniff his shirt?!', she cursed herself internally and didn't dare to move at all. Alabaster could feel the heat coming from her reddened skin as she hid herself closer to him. He never felt so amused and laughed.
"Al.... Stop laughing!"
She glared at him like an angry little kitten. The laugh slowly stopped but a huge smile wrote on his lips that revealed his perfect teeth. That only made her heart scream in euphoria, he looked so angelic. She had spent too much time around him and it didn't help her little heart at all. She could feel the attraction between them had gotten stronger but he was her boss. How can a small worker like her reach the man himself?
