*Linden's point of view*

As soon as I open my eyes, I slowly sit up, and as usual, Adrian is sitting in her favorite chair, and looking at me.

"Adrian...?" I say. I gasp once I hear my raspy voice come out of my mouth.

"Holy crap, I got my voice back!" I thought.

I glance over to Adrian, and she doesn't say anything, but she smiles at me, while watching me smile ecstatically.

After a little bit, she and I start up a conversation.

While I'm chatting with Adrian, I see one of the doctors walk into the room, and I see that she has 3 needles in her hand.

As soon as I see the needles, I start to panic. If it isn't obvious, I'm afraid of needles.

"Um, Adrian?" I semi-whisper to her.

"Yeah?"

"Are those needles that she's holding?"

"Yeah; she said that she's here to give you a few shots. Why?"

"Yeah, about that..." I timidly reply.

"What's wrong? You don't like needles?"

"No, I don't...They're actually one of my worst fears."

"Oh shit..." Adrian says, under her breath.

Okay, yikes. I had no idea that Linden was afraid of needles, and from the looks of it, this can't be good. I can't just say that she wants to skip getting them, or anything like that, because these could possibly be important, and/or they could prevent her condition from getting worse.

"So, I've got an idea. I've noticed that you do a lot better in terms of emotions when you have some kind of contact with me, so I was thinking about letting you do something like holding my hand while you're getting your shots." I explain to her.

"You'd seriously let me do that?" She asks.

"of course." I confidently reply.

I started to calm down a lot more when Adrian said that she's going to comfort me. Her doing this just gives me another reason to trust her.

"Thank you, Adrian."

She slightly bends down to me, softly clutching my chin with her thumb and index finger.
