Hi sorry for a late update, I finally got a breast reduction so I've been recovering the past few days!

Cassie sat in the kitchen with her head in her hands as she glanced around the room at many familiar and unfamiliar faces. Among the group she recognized her father, Remus Lupin, Mad-Eye Moody, the Weasley's parents, among others.

"Come on deary, let's get you upstairs, we have to start a meeting." Mrs. Weasley says while motioning toward the door.

Cassie stands up not making any motion to leave the room, "Meeting? What meeting? Is this for the Order because if so I want in." she says determined.

"Cassie, I know you so I know how much you want to help because of Cedric, but it's dangerous. Plus only aurors and adults are in the Order." Tonks says.

Cassie let's out a dry chuckle, "Yeah, you see, I really don't give a fuck. I want in. I'm not going to sit around on my ass all summer when I could be helping."

Mrs. Weasley inhaled sharply, "Language!"

"Darling, it's for your own safety-" Sirius starts.

"Bullshit. I'm just as capable as any of you and I'll find my way in one way or another." she says angrily as she storms out of the room.

Remus claps Sirius on the back, "Well Padfoot, she's definitely your daughter."

Sirius sighs, "That's what I'm worried about."

——-

Cassie stormed up the dust-covered staircase angry at the world. She was angry at the Order for not letting her join. She was angry at Dumbledore for making her come to headquarters. She was angry that Cedric died and she had to live.

Cassie didn't endure much grief growing up, so when Cedric died, it hit her hard. Sure, her mom did die, but it was right after she was born, it's not like she knew her so she never mourned her, not like she does with Cedric. All Cassie knew was that she was never going to go through this again and she vowed to make sure that she doesn't.

As Cassie climbed the stairs she realized halfway up she didn't know which room was hers. If she wasn't so stubborn she would have gone back down to ask, but because she's Cassie, she kept going up.

Once at the top of the house on the 3rd floor, there was one empty room Cassie had yet to look in. Cassie ran her hand over the inscribed letters marked "R.A.B" wondering what it stood for. She walked in curiously, instantly being met with assortments of shades of green and silver all around the room. A large king sized bed sat in the middle of the room with a Slytherin poster behind the headboard, letting her know that whoever's room this was, was a hardcore Slytherin.

She scoffed at the thought of someone being this much of a diehard Slytherin, but despite this she felt a connection of some sorts to the room. The simple energy in the room drew her in and it was enough for her to know that this was now her room. It helped also that there was a window so that she could sit out on the ledge, similar to how she would on the astronomy tower at Hogwarts.

And yet again Cassie was left with her thoughts as she pulled out a bottle of firewhiskey and lit a cigarette as she sat out on the ledge of the window.

——-

It was a few hours since Cassie finished her bottle of firewhiskey and decided she was sober enough to be able to sneak downstairs to get some food. She wasn't totally sober yet, but seeing as it was nearly midnight she figured it'd be safe to go down.

Slightly stumbling, Cassie tip-toed down the old staircase until she was in the kitchen. She searched around the cupboards for a snack when a voice was heard from behind her.

"You know, drinking and smoking aren't the best coping mechanisms."

The lights were flicked on and Cassie turned around to see her Dad.

"What are you talking about, I haven't been drinking or smoking" she slurred.

Sirius scoffs, "Tell that to your slurred speech. Also, you reek of firewhiskey and smoke."

Cassie sat down at the kitchen table across from her Dad. "How great for you, you get to play Dad for the first time in over a decade" she says sarcastically rolling her eyes.

Hurt flashes across Sirius' eyes, but it quickly is covered up. "I know I haven't been there for you growing up, but it wasn't exactly my choice. If I could have been there, I would have," he pauses as he sighs, "can we at least try to have a relationships?"

'It was a choice, YOU left your infant alone to get revenge not thinking about the implications' Cassie thought. If it wasn't for her pounding headache and her yearning for her Dad, she might just have said that.

Although, instead, she bit her tongue and replied, "Yeah sure, I've missed you Dad, I'm sorry for being a bitch it's just been hard lately."

Sirius took his daughter's hands in his and gave a gentle squeeze.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he questioned.

Cassie gave a sad smile, "Not really, I think I'm just going to go to bed," she says while standing up, "good night Dad."

"Good night sweetie, please don't try to drink away the pain again, I'm telling you from experience that it never works."

Once Cassie was sat in her room at Grimmauld once again, she lied away with her thoughts. Her thoughts were plagued with memories of Cedric, as usual, causing her to have another sleepless night. She knew it was going to be hard to have to put on a happy facade in front of these people at Grimmauld, but she didn't realize just how much of a toll it was going to be on her mentally. All she wanted to do this summer was spend time with the people who have been her family since she was a baby to try and cope as best as possible, but instead here she was thrown into a place with people she barely knows. A place with a father who is barely making an effort who seems to be more caught up with Harry Potter than his daughter. She would give anything to go home.

Short chapter! Didn't want to overload too much in this, there will be more next chapter.
