Chapter Eleven

Carson's chest was heaving. She was panting and she barely catch her breath. Her conversation with CJ was intense, she didn't even saw that coming. She was mad and annoyed but at the same time she missed him. It took huge amount of self control to keep herself from jumping on him, kiss him and make love to him.

Marami ng tao ng dumating siya sa pent house ni Van. Kitang kita niya kung paano napuno ang pool side mula sa glass wall na naghihiwalay dito mula sa living room. Van waved at her before he dismissed his colleague and walk towards her.

"I'm so glad you came." Hinalikan siya nito sa pisngi. "You look pale." His brows shot up as he scrunitize every inch of her face. She heaved a deep sigh and pull him towards the pop up bar.

Malakas ang hangin at malamig ang paligid pero mukhang hindi iyon alintana ng mga naroroon. Sumalubong din sa kanya ang malakas na music mula sa naglalakihang speakers sa bawat corner ng pool area.

Hinila niya si Van papunta sa bar bago naupo sa isa sa mga stool na naroroon.

"Can I have a drink?" She asked him as she scanned the available liquor on the shelf. Tumawa si Van and by the look on his face, he knew something happened.

"What happened?" Hindi na ito nag abala pang maghintay. "Is there a Gin?" She asked instead. Lalo itong humalakhak. Tinawag nito ang bartender at sinabing bigyan siya ng gin tonic.

"Yung puro lang kamo. Ilagay na lang dito iyong bote." Reklamo niya na siyang tinawanan lang ni Van.

"The night is young, come on. Don't get drunk so early." Iniabot nito sa kanya ang gin tonic pagkalapag na pagkalapag ng bartender sa harap nila. Inisang lagok niya iyon bago humingi ng tatlo pang shot. Sinaluhan naman na siya ni Van sa mga sumunod. "Magkwento ka na." He urged her to speak up.

Biglang namula ang mukha niya ng maalala na involved si Van sa magiging kwento niya. Pero tapos na siyang magmukang kawawa. She needed to tell him what happened. Tsaka siya hihingi ng tulong para mapanindigan niya ang kalokohan niya.

"I quite expect that and I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself." Van tapped her shoulders. "I'll help you with that. Don't worry." Hinugot nito ang phone mula sa bulsa bago pinindot ang camera button at itinapat iyon sa kanilang dalawa. Inakbayan siya nito bago idinikit ang mukha sa mukha niya. "Smile." He said and press the click button. He took a few shots and she cooperate by posing.

"What was that for? -Ay ang cute natin diyan!" She giggled as they scan their pictures from his phone.

"Sabi mo ayaw mo ng magmukhang kawawa. It's time to give him a dose of his own medicine." He even winked at her. Pinanood niya lang ito habang iniuupload iyon sa instagram. "Isn't she pretty?" With a heart emoji ang inilagay nitong caption pagkatapos ay itinag sa profile niya.

"Eat that Connor Young!" He even hissed before hitting the post button.

She had a blast. Van introduced her to his friends and she could say it's not that bad. She had a great night. She even participated on the games over the pool. Hot spring iyon so the cold didn't bother her.

It was past 5AM when the party is over. Sinabi niya kay Van na sasabay na lang siya sa mga kaibigan nito pababa ng building. She was tired, exhausted but she's feeling a little lighter. Sa sandaling panahon na iyon, nakalimutan niya si Connor.

She was contemplating if she'll get inside their unit but in the end she choose to go home. Wala naman kasi siyang ibang pupuntahan. Aside from that, she's a bit drunk and exhausted and she badly needed to sleep.

Hindi niya inaasahan na naroon si Connor pagdating niya. She's expecting that he'll stay with Jusmaine so she was shocked to actually see him inside their house, sitting at the couch while obviously waiting for her. Mukhang hindi rin ito nakatulog.
