Chapter Twenty One

Carson was anxious as hell. Her heart is pounding inside her chest, forehead also sweaty, she felt so tensed.

Kasalukuyan siyang sakay ng van na maghahatid sa kanila sa farm ni CJ. Inside that vehicle is Cassiel, the twins, Nay Kamil, Ariana and the baby sitter they called Glenda. Main job niya roon ang alalayan si Cassiel at linisin ang tahi nito, since they put her in an emergency cesarean section. They really thought she will push through a normal delivery, but they discover that the babies are both breech on the ultrasound monitoring while Cassiel is on labor.

Sa ngayon, hirap pang kumilos ang hipag niya dahil sa tahi kaya kailangan talaga siya roon. On the other hand, hindi naman nagbago ang pakikitungo sa kaniya ni Nay Kamil, magiliw pa rin ang biyenan sa kanya na para bang hindi siya nawala sa nakalipas na apat na taon.

Hindi rin humihiwalay sa kaniya si Ariana. Panay ang tanong nito kung bakit ngayon lang daw siya nito nakilala. She said "If you're my ninong's wife, how come I only see you now? Should I call you ninang? You're technically my ninang. You should be my favorite ninang, but Ninang Tara's my favorite ninang, but she's not ninong's wife, should you be my favorite ninang?" Sunod sunod iyon, walang pause, walang hingahan. Laglag ang panga niya, ang lakas naman ng tawa ni Cassiel.

Sinaway ni Nay Kamil si Ariana, hindi daw dapat ito nagtatanong ng ganoon at dapat daw na wala itong favorite and everyone should be equal, but she should be her favorite lola. Natawa na lamang din siya.

Nang manahimik ang makulit na bata at makatulog sa kandungan niya, noon niya naman naalala ang pinag-usapan nila ni Conan.

"Are you sure you want me to do the job?" Nakangiwing tanong niya sa bayaw. Kasalukuyan siyang nasa clinic nito dahil kailangan daw siya nitong makausap. Alam na niyang tungkol kay Cassiel iyon dahil nauna na siyang kinausap ng hipag. She told her she would love to take care of her until she recovers but she's just new to the hospital and she doesn't know if it's okay to work for her. Noon niya nalaman na pamilya pala ni Ava ang may-ari ng hospital at kung hindi ba naman mapagbiro ang tadhana, pinsan pala ni Ava iyong Milan.

"Don't you want to do the job?" His brows shot up.

"Hindi naman sa ganoon, kuya. Kaya lang, bago lang ako. Bakit ninyo ipagkakatiwala sa akin si Cassiel?" Siyempre ay labas sa ilong niya iyon. She's experienced on her field and she knows her capacity as a nurse. Kaya lang ay mananatili si Cassiel sa farm ni CJ sa Batangas. Hindi niya alam kung handa na siya para roon lalo pa at nakita niya itong may kasamang babae. It hurts a lot seeing him laughing with another girl but she have to face the fact that even if they're still married, she left him and he has all the right to move on.

"You're new to this hospital, not to the job. You're more than qualified. Besides, you've been gone for so long. Don't you think it's time for you to face the unfinished business you left four years ago?" Nakangisi na noon si Conan. "Let me get this straight, Carson. Is there any chance that you're still in love with my brother?" Natigilan siya, hindi agad nakasagot.

"Because if not, then I'll help you file an annulment so both of you could really moved on, once and for all." Conan looked at her, percing her soul. His gaze penetrated her insides, desperate to know what's on her mind.

Hindi pa rin siya makapagsalita dahil ano ba ang tamang isagot?

Of course she came back because of CJ. She loved him. Despite everything that happened she loved him. Kinailangan niyang lumayo hindi dahil hindi na niya mahal ang asawa kung hindi dahil ayaw niyang mawala ang pagmamahal na iyon. She chose to get away from him because she wanted to heal. She wanted to mend her broken heart all by herself. She wanted to pick up the broken pieces of herself that she lost because she have loved him. She wanted to be whole again so she could give him the love that he deserved.
