"I'm fine, you guys, I don't need to be checked over."

Nishinoya glared at him skeptically.

Suga glared back.

"I'm serious. I just didn't sleep for a night, and fainted because of it."

He heard Akaashi let out a long, drawn-out sigh.

"Do you know what distress is?"

"Yes."

"Define it for me, will you?"

"A state of extreme anxiety or despair."

"Kind of. Distress is more of a result of those emotions. Like, say, forgetting a homework assignment because you were worried about a test. That would be an example of distress."

"What are you implying?"

"Hinata-kun told me what happened, Sugawara-kun. I wouldn't know how that feels, but I'd imagine that kind of pain isn't good for you. I bet it would cause distress."

"What did I just-"

"Ah. Nope. You're not fine, and you know it. I know it too. What I don't know is why you're choosing to try and hide it."

"I'm not hiding anything. I'm grieving, and this is how I grieve."

"If you say so. But be warned, if your guilt takes over you, you won't survive."

Akaashi's apathetic stare made Suga's blood boil, but he held his tongue. He couldn't afford to let anything slip. He already knew that he was the rock for many on the team, the only person they fully and completely trusted. If he exploded, they'd lose their rock. If they lost their rock, then they wouldn't have anyone. They would fall into a depressive spiral, and become impulsive, and stupid, and get themselves killed somehow. And it'd be his fault.

"What do you think, Suga-san?"

He realized the others had been talking, and he'd zoned out.

"Sorry. Spaced. Can you repeat it?"

"Yaku heard some people yell to run to the bus that Kenma and Kuroo came here on. We should bring them food."

"Yeah. We'll just have to grab our bags so we can bring them without dropping any."

"Agreed. Asahi, Kuroo-san, could you?"

"Yep."

They disappeared and came back in a few moments later with three bags; Hinata's, Daichi's, and Tanaka's. Seeing this jogged Suga's memory.

"Hey, didn't Tanaka yell to run to the bathrooms?"

"Oh my god, he did."

"We should split and bring supplies to each, and meet at...back here, I guess."

"Good idea. Let's go."

And they split. Suga, Kuroo, Akaashi, and Yaku went to the bus, and Asahi, Noya, Hinata, and Kenma to the bathrooms.

Tanaka tried to remember a time when he'd been worried about stupid things. It was hard. It had only been around a month and a half since the apocalypse started, but...

It seemed like years.

Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door. Iwaizumi jerked it open, and and a bright orange mop swallowed him into a hug. He staggered back and caught himself on a sink, then straightened to see Kenma, Asahi, and Nishinoya. Hinata was the one who had tackled Iwaizumi. The libero closed the door, then scanned the room. His dark and serious eyes seemed to lighten up a little bit.

Soon, there was hugging, crying, food, and conversation.

"Apparently some people went to the bus, so Suga, Yaku-san, Akaashi-san, and Kuroo-san are there currently, seeing who made it over to there. I just used there twice in one sentence, god, I hate myself."

"So are we going back to the club room?"

"Yep. Let's go. I don't want the others to have to wait for us."

Yaku slammed his fist into the door of the bus, and eventually the door opened. He rushed inside, then pulled Akaashi in with him. Kuroo and Sugawara quickly followed suit. After a brief reunion, a lot of crying, and many cans of food and bottles of water, the group slowly stood up to make their way back. Suga stumbled for a second, and almost fell, but was quickly caught by Daichi, and they continued on their way.

"Aghck!"

Bokuto, who was near the back of the group, whipped his head around just in time to see a pair of teeth cut through flesh. His eyes started to well up, but his face remained stunned, and his feet somehow stopped moving. He was frozen in place, unable to twitch a single muscle.

There was a zombie walking towards him. It was getting closer, so close that he could feel its haunted, rattling breath-

The door to the club room burst open and Tanaka looked up. There, out of breath, was Kiyoko, who herded in Suga, Yaku, Daichi, Kageyama, Ennoshita, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, Kunimi, Oikawa, Akaashi, and Bokuto. Kenma's eyes scanned the room, and his breath caught in his throat, forcing him to choke back tears.

"Where's..."

Bokuto's eyes lost any emotion that could have been left in them.

"Kuroo's dead. Or undead, should I say, as he's been bitten. Either way, he's gone."

"I'm sorry, Kenma. I'm sorry this happened."

Kenma stood up and made his way towards the door, almost in a trance-like state.

"I think I need some fresh air."

"NO!"

Sugawara screamed and grabbed his arm, jerking him backwards and making him fall onto the floor.

"I can't...not again...not after...I can't let you die, not after Kindaichi...he went the same way, and it was my fault..."

Oikawa's eyes widened and Kunimi stared at Suga, tears leaking out of his eyes and cascading their way down his cheeks. But their expressionless faces didn't match the grey-haired one's, whose face, if it were able to be seen, was riddled with anxiety, pain, bereavement, and guilt.
