Crash.

The Nekoma gym window shattered, turning almost twenty heads.

"What was that?"

"There are bars in front of the window on our side, so it couldn't have been us."

"Do you think it came from outside?"

"Where else would it have come from, dimwit?"

"Shut up you guys! I know that the coach let us all stay late, but that's no excuse to start fighting and ruin our friendships with each other! Besides, we need to stay alert. We don't know what broke that window."

"Right. Lev, get over here and look out that window."

"Holy shit."

"What do you see?"

"Lock the doors right now."

"What is it, Lev?"

"Even if I say it you won't believe me."

"Just-"

"It's- I think it's- I think it's zombies."

"That's not possible."

"I told you!"

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

"Run!"

The whole team scattered. They flew out the gym doors. Some went to the club room, and others inside the school. Kuroo, Kenma, Yaku, Lev, and Inuoka all ran towards the parking lot, where they were confronted by hundreds of undead creatures.

"Where the fuck did all these things come from?"

"What are they? How do they exist?!"

"Who knows? RUN!"

They fled into a school bus and closed the doors. Ignoring the banging on the door and sides of the large vehicle, Kenma asked, "Does anybody here know how to drive a bus?" Kuroo laughed dryly. "I can drive a car." "That'll have to do," Kenma replied. He jerked the keys out of the ignition and handed them to Kuroo. "If you get us killed I will murder you with these," he muttered, and sat in one of the bus seats. Soon, Lev, Yaku, and Inuoka followed suit.

"Where are we going?" Kuroo asked, "We can't just leave everyone else behind!" Kenma inhaled, then exhaled softly. "I don't think you understand this, but those zombies...they're our classmates. Unless you want to end up like them, I suggest you step on it. Now. "

Kuroo needed no more motivation. The bus sped off awkwardly, the rooster-headed ravenette not being used to driving such a long vehicle. Everyone was shaken, no one complained. Kenma decided to not mention how hard Kuroo's hands were gripping the wheel, or how much they were trembling. Instead, he focused on Inuoka, who was crying, and Lev, who was pale and mumbling to himself.

He had never been good at the sappy stuff, so he settled with awkward back pats. It did seem to help them, though. Kenma was scared, but he knew how to keep it together. Or at least, he tried to keep it together. Was he successful?

Who the fuck knows. This was a crisis.

Soon Kenma began to recognize the landscapes that passed by as they pulled into a school they'd been to many times for practice games.

Fukurodani.

"Kuroo, why are we at Fukurodani?!"

"Well if we survived...maybe they did too."

"How are we gonna-"

"Get to them? See for yourself."

Bokuto and Akaashi were huddled together in a closet when the spiker's phone rang. The caller id said "Kuroo."

Bokuto fumbled with the phone.

"Pick it up, pick it up!"

"I'm trying!"

Finally, he hit the answer button.

"Kuroo? Kuroo?"

"Where are you?"

"I'm in a closet in the second gym."

"Stay there. We're coming to get you."

"What? Where are you?"

"Open the door."

Click.

He hung up.

Akaashi flung open the door and was immediately grabbed by an out of breath Kuroo, who hurried them along. "Follow me!" He shouted, and sprinted down the path leading to the parking lot. Bokuto grabbed Akaashi's hand and followed him.

The middle blocker hurriedly led them to a bus, punched the door, and stepped back as it opened.

"Come on!"

Once the doors were closed and the three high schoolers were safely inside, Kuroo said, "Is there anyone else here?"

Bokuto's lower lip began to tremble as he struggled to form the words he wanted to say.

"They...I...they're...they're..."

Tears began to stream down his face and he buried it into Akaashi's shoulder. Muffled sobs could be heard as he stroked Bokuto's back, clearly holding back tears himself, but attempting to keep it together for his friend.

But soon enough, the setter was crying too.

That was all Kuroo needed to know.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled, and led them to a seat near the back, where they had more privacy. As Kuroo haphazardly attempted to drive the bus, he could hear both of them crying despite the noise of the engine.

Like everyone else, he didn't mention it.

He was on the verge of tears too.
