Oikawa and Kunimi were practically silent the next day, and no one could really blame them. After all, one of their last friends had died. Iwaizumi was acting...strange, to say the least. He was smiling and laughing a lot, but it wasn't the real kind of laughter. It was the fake kind, the kind that tightened in your chest and eventually ended up turning into a sad wheeze. Everyone knew that it was an effect of Kindaichi's death, and so they didn't question it.

Kenma, on the other hand, was hysterical, attempting to make rash decisions, and Sugawara was the only thing that stopped him from following through with them. It wasn't good. Eventually, everyone decided to just go to bed. Akaashi was waiting for Suga to wake up so that they could plan their next supply run. It took him a little longer than usual, but eventually the event was planned, and off they went. This time, it was Yamaguchi, Hinata, Shimizu, and Sugawara who were going. They had taken to smaller numbers in case there was an unusual abundance of zombies in the store, and the odds of survival were low.

It was mainly uneventful when they got to the store. It had started to drizzle, so the teens held their jackets over their heads as they ran in, then immediately putting them back on when they were in the store. Ignoring the throbbing pain that pounded into the inside of his skull, Suga grabbed what he could, noting how much was left. Once this store ran out, they'd either have to find another one or take from the stores in the safe room, which were strictly for emergencies only.

Daichi looked up as the club room door creaked open. Thunder rumbled quietly in his ears as his eyes traveled to what Shimizu, Yamaguchi, and Hinata were holding.

Or more accurately, who.

Remembering his basic first aid, Akaashi took the unconscious Sugawara and laid him on his side, while at the same time asking what had happened. Kiyoko, levelheaded as always, explained the entire situation while attempting to calm the two first years down. While they had been walking through the aisles of the store looking for food, they'd come across a particularly aggressive pack of zombies, which they'd all dealt with. But apparently, after smacking the last zombie with his pistol, Suga had dropped to the ground. The group had already checked his exposed areas for bites. There were none.

After hearing this, Daichi shook his boyfriend's shoulder, and got a feeble groan of response. "Leave me alone," Suga mumbled, "I don't wanna get up," and pulled his jacket over his head. This alarmed Karasuno's captain, and he immediately reached out his hand and felt the setter's forehead.

He gave Shimizu a fleeting, frantic look.

"There's a medical bag in the gym," she responded immediately, "And if we need to I can probably figure out what dosage of medicine he'd need. Asahi, come with me."

"Ri-right."

Daichi spoke again. "We need to quarantine him, otherwise someone else might get sick. Is there anywhere safe and not too far from us?"

"We can always put him in one of the bathrooms that are in here. There are two, right?"

"That's a good idea. Suga, can you walk."

Daichi's voice was high and terrified, and however sick he was, Suga heard it. He heard the question that ended up being spat out as a sentence, and he heard the tears choked behind the words that were said. He heard this, took it all in, and based off of it, formulated a response.

"I'm fine. I don't need to be quarantined. I'm not sick."

"If you have a fever, you're going in that bathroom, do you understand me?"

"Yes. But I don't have a fever, and I'm not sick."

"Well, you can prove it soon enough."

"Good."

"Good."

Hinata pulled Daichi aside. He looked nervous, and somehow the captain knew what the orangette was about to ask.

"He'll be fine, Hinata, he's always like this when he's sick."

He saw the boy let out a sigh of relief and go back to his peers. Daichi, however, subtly tensed up.

What he'd told Hinata was a lie.

Soon enough, and to his protest, Sugawara was reluctantly moved to the bathroom under the diagnosis of a high fever. Only Daichi and Akaashi were allowed to see him, Daichi because they were dating and Akaashi because he had more medical knowledge than anyone else there. Apparently he had taken great interest in the subject in secondary school, and continued to retain the basic knowledge that the others so lacked. Since they were seeing Suga, they slept away from everyone else, and kept their distance when possible.

It was only after everyone didn't have Sugawara that they really realized how much they needed him.
