"Do you want me to drive you to work today?" Luke asked me, running his hand through his damp hair since he'd just showered. I had to leave soon, and I would have told him I could walk, but there was something I needed to help him with.
I nodded, murmuring 'yeah' under my breath. He gave me a small smile and got up from his spot on the couch- where we'd been sitting- to get his car keys and slip his shoes on.
Soon, we were sitting in the car with our hands linked between us. "When we get there, I want you to come inside for a little," I spoke softly, looking at our intertwined fingers.
"Why?" Luke glanced at me with a confused expression.
"To get this job thing sorted out," I grinned, "If you still want to, anyways."
He nodded, a smile slowly coming onto his face.
"Alright, will Michael be there?"
"Of course he will." I snorted, realizing that Michael was almost always hanging around the shop. Still, sometimes he was late, but he still showed up, no matter what.
Luke nodded, a smile still on his face as we began driving to the record shop with the radio playing softly and his hand in mine.
**
Everything was sorted out for Luke, and there was no doubt he'd be getting a job with me and Michael. He seemed excited about it already.
Surprisingly, a few people wandered into the shop today but they were small groups and they all seemed genuinely interested in the store, but thats about it.
Luke had picked me up again after I was done, and we went straight back to his house. We never got out and did anything, really, but I kind of wanted to.
"Music-note," I hummed into the nape of Luke's neck, reaching for his hand and tangling our fingers together, "Do you want to like.. go somewhere?" I whispered softly, shifting in my spot to see him. We were laying on the couch, in comfier clothes than before, and he had his back pressed against my chest. I was originally laying by myself, but then he decided to lay with me and I wasn't complaining.
His head turned aswell, our noses brushing against each others since we were so close. I blushed at the touch and he just smiled.
"Yeah," Luke spoke out, his eyes brightening up, "When?"
I shrugged my shoulders as much as I could and sighed, glancing to our hands, "Tomorrow. We can make plans for tomorrow."
He nodded, the smile on his face widening as he moved his head closer, greeting my lips with his before both of our eyes shut.
We laid like that for a little while, pressed against each other on the couch. When we parted, I looked at him for a little, debating on wether or not I should kiss him again.
"Do you work again tomorrow?" Luke whispered softly, combing his fingers through my hair. I laid my head in the crook of Lukes neck, making him move his head for more room so his chin was perched on the top of my head.
I nodded sadly, holding onto him. "Yeah, but only for a little." I murmured against his skin, and I could feel him shudder slightly beneath me as he mumbled an "okay" under his breath.
The silence that followed after that made me lean more into him. I often found that we would end up in silence, the only sound being our breathing and an imaginary clock ticking inside of my brain, as if telling me to speak up. I never knew what I could do to fill the silence, though. I almost didn't want to, nothing was wrong and nothing was right when it was quiet- but it was bearable.
Our original position on the couch was both of us on our sides, but we both had moved around enough for me to basically be laying on Luke while he was on his back with his head laying up against the arm of the couch. When I looked up at him, his eyes were closed, but I could tell he was awake. When he slept, his lips would part in the slightest and his breathing would become slower. It was cute. Sometimes his nose would twitch and his pale hands would lift automatically to scratch it.
"Stop looking at me." Luke mumbled, then his face broke out into a grin with his eyes kept closed.
I couldn't help but let a dark blush rise from my neck to my cheeks. Now, looking at his eyes, I could tell that they were open just enough to see me, but I didn't notice.
Lukes eyes opened finally and he looked right at me, his smile softening. My head was still on his chest- but I was capable of looking back up at him.
Our stare-down ended quickly when Lukes phone started going off a few times, which made both of us slightly annoyed. He shifted, retrieved his phone from his back pocket, and started to read the string of messages. From who? I don't know, but Lukes face looked concerned.
