This was it

Five years ago, Thanos wiped out half of the universe with the snap of his fingers. Today with the snap of our fingers we were going to get them all back.

We couldn't get back those five years,  but we could start over.

We couldn't get back those five years, but we couldn't start over.

We owed this to everyone who wasn't here. We had to try for them.

I could remember all the pain it caused me. A knot forming in my stomach when I realized what was happening. My body trembling as I rushed to the ground, trying to comfort my best friend/boyfriend as he slowly turned to ash.

Trauma and grief don't heal overnight or over five years, or even over a lifetime. It's just that way in the way in which we give changes over time.

It was time for all of that to change.

I felt my eyes begin to hurt as I watched the stones with full concentration. As Tony was placing them on the new gauntlet, Rocket, Bruce, and I stood by to help if needed. After an eternity, it was done.

''Alright, the glove's ready. The question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers,'' Rocket said, examing it once more. I looked around at the others in the room.

''I'll do it.'' Thor sauntered over to the table. Steve and Tony were quick to stop him before he could reach the table. ''Wait Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put it on,'' Steve said.

''Well, I'm sorry. Are we all sitting around waiting for the right opportunity,'' Thor pursed his lips.

''Should we least discuss it,'' Scott said.

''Look, sitting here staring at the thing is not going to bring everyone back. I'm the strongest Avenger so This responsibility falls on me. It is my responsibility,'' he tried to keep talking but Tony push him back a little. ''It's not about that,'' Tony tried to reason with him.

''Shh, just let me,'' Thor spoke out in a broken voice, making Mr. Stark stop. ''Just let me do something good, something right.''

While Thor was one of the strongest Avengers, he was in no mentally... or physically stable condition to do this. He had been a train wreck.

''It's not just the fact that glove is channeling enough energy to blow up a continent. I'm telling you, you're in no condition,'' Tony said, speaking what we were all thinking.
