THIRD POV
''Hey, Peter... I've now lost count of how many times I've called you. It's been five years since I call every once in a while, I just on hear your voice. Yeah, I know you won't ever get these, but I still leave a message so I don't feel completely alone. Five years later and words still can't express how much I miss you. To this day I still wish it was me instead of you.''
''In my head, I can hear you say saying 'Don't give up Y/N, you got this,' but I'm gonna be honest with you... It's hard. Deep down, I know that someday, somewhere, we will see each other again.''
''Before we killed Thanos, part of me still had this small glimmer of hope that we could fix this. As days and years went by I still haven't been able to find the hope I lost. It just turned into ash and vanished.''
''I never tell you, but I love you, Peter Parker. Always and forever.''
Peter sat in the chair he had sat spent the past few hours in. All he had been able to do was play over the voicemails Y/N had left him. He just wanted to hear her voice again.
Some made him smile, others made him laugh, a lot made him cry a little.
Tears made their way down his face. He was just happy to be hearing her voice.
He couldn't imagine what his life would've been if had never met Y/N. If he had to introduce himself when they had to fight Captain America. He had replayed that day in his head many times.
The day they promise to tell each other everything.
He replayed the day they had their first kiss. It was when Y/N give him his suit back Tony took from him. he walked up to her leaning in to kiss her she did the same.
He had heard from some of the students that first kiss weren't all that special but kissing her proved all of them wrong. He knew at that moment that loved Y/N L/N.
He remembered when they were on Titan they planed how they were going to get the gauntlet off Thanos. She was scared and told Peter what she was feeling about not dealing with a villain with so much power. Peter reassures her about finding a reason to fight.
She was the reason he fought. She always has been.
He continues to listen to every single voicemail she had left him before finally reaching the last one.
''Hey, it's Peter... It's me again.''
''I think we really have it this time. Tony, Rocket, and Banner are downstairs making a new gauntlet downstairs. It uh... it feels nice having hope. Hope that something good will come of all this mess.''
''We lost Natasha... I know you never really knew her. When I first met her, she kind of scared of me. She was fierce and tough. I used to want to be just like her. She never worried about how anyone looked at her. She never worried about how anyone looked at her. She was always there to talk to me when I needed it. She found a family in the Avengers and gave her life to bring them back.''
''Remember when we met the Guardians of the Galaxy and I was gushing about how cute Thor was? By the way, you looked so cute when you were jealous. Anyways, you don't have to be jealous anymore... These five years have not done him well. It pains me to see him and all the others so broken. Especially Clint and Thor. Two people that I have looked up to for so long. Those two have helped me through so much.''
''Anyways... I just want you to know if this works... and something goes wrong and I uh... I don't make it... That I never stopped fighting for you and no matter what happens I will always love you. I love you Peter Parker and having you in my life is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
He took a deep breath before. She knew that going into this fight she might not have come out. She did this not just for him but for everyone. So that everyone who lost something could have a second chance or not.
She cared about so much, she would rather be happy than herself.
Exiting the voicemail, he looked at his home screen.
It was a picture of Y/N sitting on a rooftop looking at the beautiful city as the sunset hit her features. She gives a warm smile and put up two fingers to represent the peace sign.
He couldn't help but notice how happy Y/N looked.
Everyone could tell that over the last five years Alex wasn't truly happy. Nobody really was. It wasn't hard to see that Y/n needed Peter as Peter needed Y/N.
Guilt consumed the young teen as he turned off his phone and put it in his jacket pocket.
The heartbroken teen slump back in his chair. Y/N was the first love of his life.
Nobody as brave, strong, funny, clever, innocent. He could go on for hours about all the traits he loved about her. Each one made her special in her own way. She may not notice it, but he did.
Many years ago, she was just a kid, afraid of nothing but the past inside of her. Fast forward a few years and now she was a grown badass woman, that Peter called his.
Steve came up, sitting next to the kid, placing a hand on his shoulder.
''Hey, Queens,'' Steve said.
Peter's eyes were wet and puffy as he looked up to Steve.
Everybody was a little bit in a mess, but Peter was handling it the worst.
''You should go get some rest,'' Steve told him, but Peter shook his head. ''I can't leave her,'' he said, looking over his cot in front of him.
On it, laid the pale body of Y/N.
Her greasy hair, stuck to the side of her face. Bruises and scratches lingered from her head to her toes. She was only in a sports bra. Heavy bandages were wrapped around her stomach, a light trail of blood dripped through. She was also in spandex due to wrapping along with her leg injuries.
Aside from all those she had two broken ribs and had messed up a few nerves in her leg.
The only thing letting Peter know she was alive was the faint beeping of machines behind her.
Words couldn't describe what Peter felt when he thought Y/N had died on them. He couldn't hear a pulse after she had passed out.
Steve and Thor helped Peter get medical help. Peter couldn't help but think about how Y/N did over the past five years. It had been years. It had been a day and he was a wreck.
Now they had spent the last day waiting on her to wake up. They already lost Tony in the battle. They couldn't lose her too.
Deep down some think she was the one who keeps them together after all these years.
''Steves's right, you should go get some rest, or at least get something to eat,'' Sam said, coming into the room alongside Bucky.
Y/N POV
I slowly came back to reality. I was confused about why I was back. I thought I had died. I forced my eyes open, coughing in the process, gaining the attention of others.
The first person I saw was a worried Bucky leaning over me. ''You good kid?'' He questioned.
''Well, I'm not dead yet, so I guess that answer is yes.''
Bucky smiled, leaning back.
''It's good to have you guys back,'' I smiled looking between the two friends I now called family.
''It good to be back,'' Sam answered, even though to him he wasn't gone that long.
Someone else came into the room causing my head to turn. I looked over to see Peter, nearly drop his food.
''You're awake!'' He exclaimed. He shoved his food into Steve's arms before rushing to my side.
''I never leave your side again,'' he sighed, planting a kiss on my forehead.
I smiled at him before looking back to Steve who stood there with a small proud smile on his face.
