Glancing at the girl who was once again ignoring her, Yuyan heaved a deep sigh before turning her attention back to the front. Now It just seemed as if she was running their friendship and everything they had. Were they even friends at that point?

After a long period of misery, school had finally ended. Yuyan lazily got up as Jiaqi did too. Silence engulfed them as they headed to the school gate. With the short haired girl walking in front of her, Yuyan couldn't help but to glare at any of the passersby who gave Jiaqi a bad look. To others, it was like the taller was there to protect Jiaqi.

Pausing in her steps, she stole furtive glances around, looking for Daimeng and Sunrui who had not shown up. She could only assume they were already back at home. Huffing a breath, Jiaqi gazed back down onto the floor and continued walking with Yuyan right behind her.

Making their way down the streets, Yuyan stuffed her hands into her pockets while Jiaqi tried to ignore her presence. The taller was desperate to start a conversation, however she didn't dare to speak a word.

As the dim lights of the street lamps shone down on the pair, the sounds of crickets filled the air. The round full moon hung in the starry night sky, making everything seemed calm and serene.

"J-Jiaqi...I'm really sorry about this morn-" She tried.

"You don't have to apologise. It's your life. It's not like I'm anyone important enough to you. Why apologise?" Her voice was laced with the chilliness of winter night as her somewhat harder than ever orbs gazed into her eyes.

"You're important to me though..." Mumbling to herself, Yuyan sighed after and caught up with Jiaqi's quickened pace. She knew that the short haired girl would've thought that she was playing with her after the kissing incident yesterday. However that was not true.

"Listen, what the blonde girl said might seem inappropriate but it's not what it sounds like." Yuyan didn't know why but she felt the need to explain herself. Raising a perfectly arched brow, Jiaqi scoffed sarcastically, "Then what exactly did it imply?"

Her gaze shifted from her golden honey pupils to the ground, "I can't tell you...at least not now."

Biting her cheek, Jiaqi tore her eyes off Yuyan, "I don't wanna make it awkward between us for this pity reason so I'll ignore what happened this morning. Besides, it's not like we're lovers anyway. So there's no need to apologise."

Yuyan bit down on her lip, refraining herself to reveal what they were actually doing. After all, if she wanted to surprise Jiaqi, it had to be perfectly done. Of course that being said, she had sought help which led to a misunderstanding.

After a few minutes, the two finally reached their dorm, with Jiaqi heading straight for the showers while Yuyan sighed heavily. Grabbing a cigarette from her bag, she headed to the balcony and gazed over the campus with a heavy heart.

Huffing out smoke as she slowly got immersed into the beautiful view, she hadn't notice a presence behind her.

"Hadn't expect you to be a smoker."

There was that familiar lavender scent. Making her way besides Yuyan who didn't feel the need to reply her, Jiaqi stared at her side profile. She hated smokers but this woman was an exception. It almost seemed magical with the smoke floating out her mouth as she held onto her cigarette in an elegant way.

Yuyan could feel Jiaqi's intense gaze bore into the side of her face as she brought the cigarette up to her lips. No matter how mesmerised she was by Yuyan's side profile, she could no longer stand the foul smell of smoke anymore.

"I hope you know smoking is bad for your health." Right after reminding the taller, she then stepped back into the room and closed the balcony door. Sighing a stressed breath, she headed to her desk and begun studying.

Biting down on her lip, Yuyan placed the cigarette butt in a small pile of sand before heading back inside. After showering, she then wrapped her body in a towel and walked out. Taking her undergarments and a shirt and pants back in to change, she tried ignoring the curious stare of Jiaqi. It was making her nervous for some reason.

Smoothly seating next to the girl after changing, Yuyan gently rested her head against Jiaqi's shoulders, "What are you studying for now?" The short haired girl supported a small grin on her face as she simply replied, "Maths."

Moments of silence approached as Yuyan intently focused on the expressions of Jiaqi's face. Mostly were confusion and irritations. A small cute snigger came from the taller as she shifted her face closer to the crook of her neck, "Seeing you suffer with this is quite entertaining."

Scoffing with a slight pout, Jiaqi accused, "It's not like you can do any better." Yuyan's eyes lit up as a smirk appeared on her face, taunting the latter, "You'll be surprised that Mathematics is what I'm best at."

The older could practically feel her smirk against her skin as Yuyan's lips rested against her collarbones. Gulping down her saliva, Jiaqi fought the blush that was slowly creeping up her cheeks. Yuyan had not even notice that as her mind was fixated on helping her out with the subject.

"And I thought you were smart. X in this equation is clearly 71 not 69. And Y should be 56. This is as easy as it can get, Jiaqi." Her mocking yet worried tone made Jiaqi crack a smile.

"Well then Ms smarty pants, could you help me with this chapter?"

Without a second thought, Yuyan enthusiastically replied with a yes as she lifted her weight off Jiaqi's shoulders. With a grin stretched across her face, the taller grabbed a pen and was about to start explaining the whole process when an idea flashed across her mind.

Holding the pen against her chin as she stared into Jiaqi's puzzled eyes, Yuyan spoke, hope lacing her voice, "Well if I help you out, could you trust me this once?"

A comfortable silence dawned upon them as Jiaqi scanned the latter's sincere and passionate glazed eyes, instantly figuring out what she was talking about-- this morning's misunderstanding.

"The thing is, when you told me about it just now, from the beginning...I already trusted you."

A smile played on her lips as she continued, "But since you're asking me seriously this time, I'll give you a serious answer too."

Leaning in, Jiaqi whispered into her ear as her arms wrapped around Yuyan's waist, embracing her warmth.

"I trust you."
