We walked into the school and went to our lockers together. They were right next to each other. We opened them and put our stuff in our lockers and got our books out. "Finally the last day in this hellhole." Jackie said. I nodded. "Well, at least for a few months." She added. I nodded and turned around. Then I saw him. It was the most popular boy in 10th grade and he was devastatingly gorgeous. "Hi, Chris." I said as he walked by. "Hey, Al." He said as he walked by. My heart melted. "Ew. He just called you Al. That's a guys name. I'm telling you that boy is no good. Like what happened with his last girlfriend." Jackie said and slammed her locker shut. I ignored her and we went to class. On the board, it said "Have a wonderful last day!" And it said, "Goodbye class year 2k14-15!" I should've known that Ms. Cantrell was the kind of teacher to write notes on the board like that. We took our seats. Ms. Cantrell came into the room in a bright red outfit. "Hello everyone, this is very unfortunate but this is the last time I will be teaching all of you as a class." She made a sad face. "But that doesn't mean we can't make the most of it." She said. Jackie groaned. She didn't like how peppy Ms. Cantrell was. I loved it. You never see people with genuine happiness like that anymore. The rest of the day flew by. There were a lot of tears and 'Call me's. "My mom is picking me up if you want a ride." Jackie said as the bell rang. I nodded. We walked into the school yard and saw her mom's topless blue mustang. "Alice, do you need a ride home?" She asked me. "I already asked her, mom." Jackie said and got in the front seat. I got in the back. We were off to my terrible home. We pulled in the driveway and heard a crash come from the inside. "You girls, stay in the car. I'll be right back." Jackie's mom said and walked up to the door. She knocked. It flew open. "Why are you here?" Uncle Will asked her. "I came to drop off Alice. And I also came to ask, since Alice's birthday is next Saturday, could we take her bowling or something on Friday so you can spend time with her?" She asked. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." He babbled. He was drunk. I grabbed my bag, ready to dart for my room. I hugged Jackie's mom and went inside. He closed the door after me. I ran to my room and locked the door.
