I walked towards Chris's table. "Hey, Al. You work here?" He asked me. I shook my head and looked at Boston. He mouthed the word 'dad'. "Me? No, I'm just helping my dad wait some tables." I lied and motioned to Boston. He gave me a thumbs up. "So, what would you guys like?" I asked him. "Can we all just have a banana split each?" He asked. I nodded and wrote it down. I went over to the bar and heard some laughing behind me. I handed the note to Boston. "Go, keep them company." He told me and pushed me towards them. I gulped and walked back to their table. "Hey, Al. I wanted to ask if you'd like to go to a party that I'm having tomorrow? Like, for the end of the school year." He asked. My jaw nearly dropped. "Of course!" I said. "Cool." He smiled big. Boston rang the bell. I went over and pick up the ice creams. I took them to Chris's table and passed them out. I walked back over to Boston. "What happened? You look sad." He said. "Chris just invited me to his party tomorrow but I can't go." I told him. "Your Uncle Will?" He asked. I nodded. "You just let me talk to him. You can stay with me and Jen this weekend and it will all work out. How did he let you get out this time?" I couldn't lie to him again. "I snuck out the window." I put my head down. "Well, you can sneak back in the window and I'll knock on the door and ask if you can stay with me." He said it as if it was that easy. I doubted him but I nodded my head anyway. "I better get going before he notices I'm gone." I said and picked up my bag. Boston nodded. "See you in an hour." He called out after me. I mumbled under my breath, "I doubt it." I walked out the door and ran home. I slipped back in through the window. My bedroom door was still closed and locked which means that Uncle Will still doesn't know that I left. I unlocked the door and peeked into the hall. There was a knock at the door. I saw Uncle Will wake up from his nap on the couch to get up and open the it. I took a deep breath.
