A/N: Y/F/S= Your favorite snack. Y/E/C: Your eye color.

(Flash back - Third person view)

The aroma of pine filled the living room of the Orion household. All morning Y/N Griffin and Cass Orion had concocted a copy of what they had imagined Earth would smell like. The two girls shared a bowl of Y/F/S while they watched a film about different types of birds for their Earth Skills class. Y/N looked down and noticed they were out of Y/F/S, she got up from the couch to pour some more into the wooden bowl. Cass laughed at one of the birds as it made a funny noise. Y/N walked over and handed her best friend the bowl. Cass took it willingly, grabbing a handful of the snack. Y/N pulled the blanket back onto her lap to be all cozy.

Mrs. Orion opened the door from her bedroom, walking into the living room. She leaned against the wall and smiled at the two girls. "Alright ladies," Mary said, "Time for bed." Both Cass and Y/N groaned in response. "Y/N, your mother would be very disappointed if I let you stay up late," Mary added, crossing her arms. Y/N huffed and shook her head. "but she doesn't have to know," Y/N said, winking. "Fine," Mary sighed, "Ten more minutes." Cass and Y/N turned back to the TV, fist bumping one another.

(Back to reality: Y/N's point of view)

I felt the slight heat of the sun beat down on my face as I opened my eyes. I looked around the upper level of the drop ship, finding dead leaves and sharp tree branches scattered throughout the floor. My stuffed backpack was propped up against my leg. A jacket had been draped over my shoulders along with a knife sitting beside the backpack. I sighed, trying to get up from the ground. The attempt at standing up was stopped by the feeling of an arrow stuck in the middle of my thigh. A sharp pulse of pain ran up the side of my leg, making me yelp in agony. Dried blood sat around the plunged end of the arrow. I could feel the beat of my heart against my chest the longer I stared at the arrow.

Despite my body yelling at me to stop moving, I took the dark blue jacket off of my shoulders. The soft fabric felt nice on my clammy skin as I ripped a piece of fabric. My breath escaped through my cracked lips and nose as I breathed in and out, preparing myself from yanking the arrow out of my shaking leg. With a swift movement, I was able to to take the arrow out. Luckily, I was able to take the jacket's fabric and wrapped around my thigh. A breath of relief escaped my lips at the disappearance of the arrow's sharp end. I rested my head against the wall while my Y/E/C drooped from the stinging slithering up my legs.

Loud chirping from the birds could be heard from where I laid. The low whistle of the wind hit the sides of the burnt dropship. The temperature had dropped the longer I cowered in the ship, afraid if the Grounders still surrounded the ship, awaiting for me to step out so they could kill me. However, I knew I couldn't just stay here forever. My eyes felt heavy as my body pushed myself up from the cold metal flooring of the drop ship. I couldn't help but think about where my friends were.

An image of Bellamy Blake appeared in my head, hoping that he was alright. With the help of the wall, I was able to push myself over to the other side of the room. Just to my luck, an extra jacket and some more medical supplies sat at the bottom of the compartment. Shivers slid up my spine from the feeling of the warm jacket hugging my arms. I mustered up enough strength to lift the lid of the lower level of the drop ship.

Once my feet hit the ground, I realized there wasn't a single person in the ship. None of my friends were waiting for me outside. It was quiet, too much for comfort. To say this was weird was an understatement. After looking around the lower level of the drop ship some more, I managed to find an extra gun, a dagger, small sheet of paper, and some pencils. I slipped the weapon into the pocket of my tattered jeans before making my way out of the ship.
