'Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61. Building Fire.'

"Let's hit it," Shay said as they got into the ambo.
"It's to early for this," Gabby yawned rubbing her eyes and looking at the clock.
"You old women," Shay chuckled as she pulled out.
"Try pregnant women who needs her sleep. It's 3am and I'm fricken exhausted," she laughed resting a hand on her small baby bump.
"This is shift work girl."
"Mmm. I think I'm glad I'm finishing early. I don't think I could handle getting up in the middle of the night being 8 months pregnant."

They pulled around the block and to the building where there were flames licking up the walls. It was a board house and there were 18 and 19 year olds running from the building as they arrived in scene. As the men jumped from their trucks, chief notified Main they would probably need a few back up ambulances.
"Truck 81, we search the bottom floor," Casey called.
"Squad 3 you know the rest."
"Go," Boden called.
They ran into the building as Shay, Dawson and Thomas stood waiting outside.
"We've got a victim on the bottom floor. Someone get in here," Herrmann called.
"I got it," Gabby called.
"No, Gabby you're not coming in here," Matt called back over the radio.
"Matt I can manage myself fine thanks. I'm going in."
"Dawson you're staying out here," Boden called. "Shay you take Thomas in."
"Chief!"
"Dawson you're not going in. That's final," he replied.
She sighed while Shay and Thomas went in. They came back out a little bit later with a young girl leaning on them.
"Thomas you drive," Dawson called as they loaded the women into the ambulance.
Shay and Dawson got into the back and hooked the girl up to the oxygen.
"Deep breathes for me sweetie," Gabby said holding the stethoscope to her chest. "She's wheezy. Doesn't sound to bad, once the smoke clears she should be fine."
"Honey what's your name?" Shay asked.
"Gabriella. My friends call me Gabby," she whispered raspy.
"Name buddies," Gabby smiled trying to cheer her up. "That's my name too."
"Really?"
"Yeah," Gabby nodded. "How old are you?"
"I turn 21 next week."
"Wow that's pretty cool. You must be nearly finished uni then?"
"Yeah this is my last semester." She started coughing.
"Put that mask back on. I'll stop making you talk," Dawson smiled helping her fix the mask.
"Am I going to be okay?"
"You'll be just fine."
They got the Chicago Med and unloaded the ambo. After signing the paperwork they loaded back up and drove back to the firehouse.

"How's the girl?" Kelly asked as they got out.
"Good. She will be fine," Shay said.
"Dawson this came for you." Cruz said chucking it over to her.
"What is it?"
"I don't know," Gabby replied. She took open the package. "It's the clothes I ordered."
"What clothes?"
"A newer uniform. My top of pants are getting too small around my stomach."
"Oooo, the baby's growing," Shay smiled.

Matt jumped out of the truck and looked at Gabby angrily.
"I better go talk to him."
"Go luck," Shay smiled.

Gabby followed Matt down the corridor and into his office. As soon as the door closed she spoke.
"I can't believe you! I can handle myself Matt! I don't need you to tell me what to do!"
"You can't believe me?! I can't believe you!" He yelled. "You are ready to run into a burning building and risk you and our baby's life!"
"It's my decision!"
"Not when its my baby!"
"Can't you just let me work while I can! God Matt you're so frustrating!" She said running her hands through her hair.
"You are not running into a burning building and putting yourself and our baby at risk!"
"You aren't the boss of me!"
"What is going on with you! You are all over the place!"
"I'm pregnant with your baby. What did you expect?!"
"Pregnant and hormonal clearly!"
"Don't you dare!"
"What?! You are clearly hormonal!"
"You're suck a jerk! You're such a jerk."
She opened the door and walked out.
"Gabby wait!"
"Don't Matt. Just don't!" She stormed out the door and to the ambulance. Shay got up from the chair and followed her out.
"Dawson calm down," she said jogging after her.
"He's such a jerk," she said turning around revealing the tears on her cheeks. "He said I'm hormonal!"
"Oh honey," she said wrapping her arms around Gabby. "It's going to be okay just come down.
"I'm not hormonal am I?" She asked.
"No, of course not." She lied.
"I don't know what's wrong with me."
"What's been going on?"
"I've been all over the place, and I'm not sleeping properly, I'm too uncomfortable and Matt doesn't help."
"Its just part of pregnancy sweetie. It'll be fine."
She wiped her eyes and stepped back slightly.
"Yeah you're right, I'm just a bit overwhelmed right now."
"You're exhausted. Go lay down. If I call comes in Thomas and I can handle it."
"No. No I'm here to do my job."
"Atleast lay down. I'll wake you if we get a call."
"I don't want to go back in there."
"Then sleep on the gurney," Shay giggled.
