"Dawson, Shay. My office," Boden said walking through the common room.
They both stood up and followed Boden into his office.
"This here is your new candidate Emma Thomas."
"Hey, nice to meet you," Gabby said shaking her hand. "I'm Gabby Dawson."
"Nice to meet you too," she smiled.
"Leslie Shay," Shay said also shaking her hand.
"It's great to be working with you. I've heard heaps about this house, I was hoping to find a position here once I'd finished up as a candidate," she smiled.
"Well p,at your cards right and there just might be one. I'm finishing up in a few months," Gabby smiled.
Emma's eyes lit up with the possibility and she nodded.

'Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61. Person down unknown injuries'

"That's us," Shay said.
"Thanks chief. I can't tell you how much easier this makes my life," Gabby said.
"You're welcome, just take it easy Gabby. Don't over work yourself."

She nodded and they went down the corridor and to the ambulance.

"I'll drive," Gabby called getting in the front as Emma got in the back.
"This is main to 61, more info on the victim has come through. His leg is caught in a mower."
"Thanks main. Do you know how old?" Shay asked.
"Mid-30's."
"Copy that. Thank you." Dawson said.
"How you feeling?" Shay asked.
"I'm good. I'm really good," she replied with a smile. "So Thomas, how much experience have you had?"
"This is my 4th and last placement on an ambo. I've been studying for 4 and a half years. If I pass this final placement I'll finish in a month or two and get a place in a house somewhere," she smiled.
"We've heard good feedback from the houses where you've done placements. Hopefully this means I can step back a bit," Gabby said.

They pulled up at the house and got out, immediately smelling the sewer.
"Oh god. What is that?" Emma asked.
"The sewer is just down the road," Shay said. "Gabby you okay?"

Gabby nodded slightly with her hand across her mouth. "I'm a- I'm gonna let you two handle this one," she croaked while trying not to gag.
"You okay?" Matt asked jumping out and putting a hand on her back.
"Yeah. Yeah," she wiped her watering eyes. "It's just to early in the morning for this smell. Baby doesn't like it."

He kissed her head gently before they got to work. The ride on mower was on top of the man and his leg was caught and twisted under the bottom leaving him with a dislocated hip. There is no easy way to pull apart a mower like that so squad had to hack open the bonnet to let Mouch try and rewire the mower to go in reverse.

"On three Truck 81 move the man, squad move the mower. If we stuff up his leg gets re-caught. We only have once chance here," Casey called.
"1-2-3."

They quickly pulled the man away and slid him onto the backboard.

"That's nasty," Shay mumbled as they strapped him up and loaded him on the gurney.
"Shay have you got this one? I really can't do it," Dawson mumbled.
"We've got it, you drive," she smiled.

They got into the ambo. and drive to Lakeshore before unloading. Once they were in the hospital and free of the patient Shay wrapped her arms around Gabby.

"What's going on hun? I've never seen you like this," she whispered.
"Well you've never seen me pregnant before," she laughed slightly.
"We have done thousands of calls in that area before with that smell."
"It just set me off today. I wanted to vomit my guts out at it and all the blood."
"My Dawson's gone all soft on me," she laughed as she let go and they walked back to the ambo. "All grown up. What am I going to do without you?"
"I'm sure you'll survive just fine. I'm not disappearing off the face of the earth, I'll probably be at the firehouse half the time Matts on shift and you can see me when you're off shift," she smiled.
"Come on, let's get you back to the firehouse so your worried fiancée can see you're okay."
