"I'll see you later," Gabby said kissing Matt gently.
"You look hot," he smiled taking her bag.
"Thank you. I won't be home late, I told Shay we needed to be home by 9."
"Have a good night. Be careful."
She nodded and walked out of his office and down the corridor to Shay.
"Let's hit it," she smiled.
"Where are we going?"
"To get our nails done, and then dinner and a movie," she said as they walked out of the firehouse at the end of the shift.
"Sounds nice."
"Yeah well you deserve it. And we have done anything just us girls since we went away for that weekend."
"When we ended up saving that guys life after he fought with his wife," she laughed.
"Yeah that's the one."
"God I remember that weekend, the two of them fighting the whole time."
"How are you and Matt going?"
"Um, good I think. We haven't argued since at that house fire the other day."
"You had a right to be angry."
"But he was right, if that was our baby I would want anything to get the baby out."
"Still to loose him."
"I don't know. My heads everywhere."
"Alright I'll stop talking. We can relax and get foot massages," she said as they pulled up outside the salon.
"God I need this. I'm so exhausted."
"Remember when we used to come here once a month."
"That was years and years ago. Just after you started working at 51."
"It used to be our treat," she smiled.
"Why did we ever stop that?"
"Life got in the way."
They sat down and had a manicure then pedicure before going out to dinner. Once dinner was done they headed to a movie before Shay dropped her home.
"Thanks for such a good night," Gabby smiled.
"No worries. We should do it more often."
"I don't know how much longer that's going to be possible," she said puttin her hands on her stomach.
"Well isn't Violet staying with you in a month or two?"
"Yeah."
"We'll do it one night with her."
"Sounds good. I'll see you in a couple of days."
"Bye." Gabby got out and walked up the steps of the house quickly and unlocked the door walking inside.
"Hey baby I'm home," she called.
"I'm upstairs."
She put her bag down and slowly and carefully climbed the stairs. She walked into the nursery and found him finishing the rocking chair.
"It looks great babe," she smiled kissing him gently. "Wow, I think it's finally finished."
He smiled and looked around. "I think you're right. How was your night?"
"It was really nice."______________
