'Ambulance 61, Truck 81, Squad 3. Possible drowning'

"Let's go. Suit up Squad," Kelly called.

They went out to the trucks and got in before drving down to the Chicago Lake that was partially frozen over from the winter chill.

"My son! He fell in!" A man yelled running up to Kelly.
"Alright I'm going in," he said attching a rope to himself. "Capp, one tap, I'm at the bottom, if I tug twice give me more rope. Three times and I've got the kid.

Capp nodded and Kelly climbed down the ladder and into the water disapearing under the ice. With the temperatures below freezing point there was little chance this boy would survive.

"First tap. He's at the bottom," Capp called.

He gave him more rope a couple of times until they got three tugs on the rope.

"Three. He's got the kid."

They started pulling the rope up until Kelly surfaced with the kid in his arms."Get him on the backboard now," Shay called as they laid him down.
They placed a c-collar around his neck.

"On my count. 1-2-3."

Cruz, Otis, Capp, Herrmann, Shay and Gabby lifted the board follwed by Gabby letting out an agonised groan.
"Gabby!" Casey called seeing she was in pain.
"I've got it, I've got it," Kelly said taking it off her.

Casey ran over and bent down in front of her.
"Where's it hurting baby? Talk to me."
"Everywhere. It hurts everywhere," she cried.
"Alright. Chief!" He called. "I'm going with the ambo. Get Herrmann to cover for me until I get back."

He lead Gabby over to the ambulance and got her in the front before closing the back doors and getting in to drive.

"Where are we going Shay?" He asked.
"Lakeshore's closest. Get us there fast."

Gabby sat helplessly in the passenger seat until they arrived at the hospital. Matt jumped out and helped Shay unload the boy and rushed him in while Gabby walked behind slowly. Once the boy was out of his care, Matt turned around and jogged back down the hall to her.

"Come on baby. We'll go down to maternity and get you checked out to make sure everything's okay." She nodded and wiped a tear. He put his arm around her and took her down a level to the ward with Shay."Kendra should be working. I'll get her to get you in quick," Shay said walking to the reception and speaking to the receptionist who handed her a phone. Moments later Kendra appeared from the corridor and gestured for Shay, Gabby and Matt to follow her. She took them into an exam room and Gabby laid down on the bed.

"Leslie told me what happened. You know you shouldn't be lifting," she said.
"I know," she replied wiping a tear.
"I'm sure everything's fine." She started up the machine and lifted Gabbys top. "How many weeks are you?"
"30."
"When are you finishing up?"
"2 weeks."

She started the ultasound.

"Baby's heart is quite fast. It's stressed out about what happened and the jolt of pain it would of received."
"Is it okay?"
"Should be as long as you calm down and stop stressing. If your heart rates too high it raises the babys as well."
She sighed and relaxed slightly.
"You need to be careful. If this happens again I'm going to stop you from working."
"Okay," she nodded. "Thank you."

She sat up and Kendra finished the ultrasound.

"Thanks Kendra," Shay said.
"You owe me Leslie," she smiled walking out.
"I'll go get the ambo and bring it to the door."
"Thanks Shay," Gabby said sitting up.
"No worries," she smiled.
