CHAPTER 29

(Allyson's POV.)

"YUUUUUCK nana is so marupok!" Kieferson teased me as I narrated to him my first kiss with Fabian.

"HAHAHA! Pinipilit moko magkwento e." I chuckled.

"That is so cringe! Eww!" Aniya na kunwaring diring diri pa sa kinuwento ko.

"Anong cringe, your dada is so manly back then." I said.

"Whatever."

Nagkukulitan lamang kaming dalawa nung bata noong biglang madinig kong tawagin ni Fabian yung pangalan ko.

"Ally..." Mahinang sabi niya.

"O-oh y-youre here. Malapit na akong matapos sa pagliligpit ng mga gamit ni Kiefer-" Hindi ako natapos sa dapat na sasabihin ko noong ilapag ni Fabian sa harap ko ang isang brown envelope.

"What is this?"

"Kieferson's adoption paper." He answered without looking straight into my eyes.

"What?"

As I take a look on what is inside, I realized that he was not lying. I look at him with a puzzled expression on my face.

"And why are you giving this to me?" I asked him.

"Take the kid with you as you go back to New York." Sagot niya.

"What? Pero paano ka? Akala ko ba-"

"I'm fine." Tipid niyang sagot sa akin.

"I realized that you are more capable of taking good care of him. He needs a mother-figure right now, Allyson. How can I make that happen? And besides, New York is a good place after all." He added.

"NO! I don't want to go to New York dada! I don't want to leave you here!" Our attention was diverted to Kieferson.

"Don't be such a headache, Kiefer. We're just doing this for your own good-"

"No! You are not doing this for me! You are doing this for yourself! You just want to push me away because you don't love me anymore!" I immediately held his hand but he was so mad at us.

"Yes! I don't want you anymore so stop being so immature and get lost!" Fabian shouted at him angrily.

"FABIAN!" Nang sigawan ko siya, ay bigla kaming natahimik na tatlo hanggang sa umiyak sa Kiefer dahil sobra siyang nasaktan sa narinig niya.

"You don't need to be so harsh. How can you be so heartless?!" I said as I grab the kid who is now breathing heavily while crying.

"T-that's not true, sweetheart. Your dada didn't mean what he said." I tried my best to calm him down while giving him a gentle pat on his back.

Saglit lang kaming tinitigan ni Fabian sabay tumalikod at lumakad na bigla paalis ng kuwarto.

"FABIAN COME BACK!" I tried to stop him but he didn't listen to me.

Hindi ko maibaba si Kieferson dahil umiiyak parin siya. Hinayaan ko na lamang na umalis siya upang mas hindi na gumulo yung sitwasyon namin.

Nang bahagyang mapakalma ko si Kieferson, ay inabutan ko siya ng isang basong tubig sabay naupo ako sa tabi niya.

"Hey." I said but he didn't utter a word.

He just locked his eyes on the glass of water that I gave him. I am now running out of ideas on how should I comfort him, because I knew that he was badly hurt.
