Tygr POV

"Echo!" Echo squeaked. "Shhhhh please please please be quiet! If Thorin finds you we're both dead!" I pleaded to the tiny dragon. It nodded and curled itself into a ball on the ground. I then noticed the company starting to stir. "Ehhhh where am I supposed to put you?!" I panicked. Gandalf then tapped on my shoulder, gaining my attention. He pulled an extra side bag out of his. "Use this, it will only work for a while since winter dragons grow quickly." Gandalf said. "Winter dragon? Is that what she is?" I asked. Gandalf nodded. I tossed the strap of my bag over my head. The bag fell to my hip. "Come here Echo, you can sleep in here." I said. I picked up a blanked and folded it, tucking it on the bottom of the bag then scooping up the dragon. I set her right inside and she curled up and went straight to sleep. "Okay...now just stay like that." I whispered. "Goodmorning lass!" Bofur greeted. I turned around and pulled my bag to hang behind me. "G-good morning!" I squeaked out. "Ya alright lass?" Balin said placing a hand on my shoulder. I squealed and jumped away. "Yep! Never better!" I said with a nervous laugh. "Um...alright dear. If you say so." Balin said before walking away. I looked and saw Dwalin giving me an odd look. "What?" I asked. "What's wrong with you?" He asked. I shook my head, "nothing...nothing at all!" I said with a smile. He shook his head then walked away. I backed away and pulled the bag to rest on my hip once again. "Goodmorning Tygr." Thorin said walking up to me. "Goodmorning Thorin~" I said with a smile, trying to hold in my panic. He gave me an odd look then nodded before walking away and getting his things together. I looked inside the bag to make sure she was still in there, yep, sleeping like a rock.

We got on the road and continued walking for hours. I was walking by myself, kicking various rocks infront of me. I suddenly felt my bag start to move. In a matter of seconds Echo had managed to jump out of the bag and run ahead of me towards the company. "Echo No!!!!" I screamed before sprinting after her. I caught up and grabbed her, while in the process I threw myself to the ground to do so and tumbled right into Dwalin. I held the dragon to my chest and looked up at the man in terror. He looked at me with pure shock. "Why...do you have a dragon?!" He yelled. "What?!" Thorin said pushing through the company to come before me. I held Echo tighter. "Don't touch her!" I yelled. Thorin glared daggers at me. "Tygr...let go of the dragon. It's not safe." Thorin said, obviously trying to be as calm as possible. "N-no!" I said holding Echo close. "Tygr! NOW!" He yelled. "Thorin Oakenshield don't you dare take that dragon away from it's mother!" Gandalf said. "What?" Thorin and I said in union. "When Tygr touched that egg she took on the responsibility of raising and caring for that dragon right there in her arms. You have no right to take her away from her." Gandalf said. I smiled, "HA! So no!" I said with a smug smile. "Well, if we kill it then we won't have this problem." Dwalin said. "You try to touch Echo and I'll show you what a ballistic wolf looks like!" I growled. Dwalin glared and Gandalf placed his hand on my head. "Everyone calm down!" Gandalf said. I looked up at him then back to Dwalin, flattening my ears defensively on my head. I stood and kept my grip on Echo, who was slightly shaking. "Gandalf we can not have a dragon with us! Have you forgotten what we are on our way to do?!" Thorin asked. Thorin looked he me and sighed, "Tygr you just can't keep him!" Thorin said. I felt my eyes water. "No! You can't make me get rid of her! It's not right! How would you feel if you had a child and someone tried to take them away from you just because they didn't like them!" I cried. Thorin sighed and pinched his the bridge of his nose. "Tygr. That. Is. Not. Your. Child!" He said. "Gandalf said she is!" I retorted. "Thorin...at least let her keep her for a few days. So that she's not alone as a baby." Fili said placing a hand on his uncles shoulder. Bofur and Kili nodded in agreement. Thorin glared at Echo. "Fine, but the first time that thing causes harm she's ether dead or gone." Thorin said. I nodded quickly with a smile. "Thank you!!!" I said jumping up, I set Echo on the ground and hugged Thorin. I felt Echo climb up my leg and hold onto my back with her head over my shoulder. Thorin jumped back when he realized how close Echo was. "Agh! Why is it so close?" "So close!" Echo squeaked. I giggled, "I don't know. She doesn't like not being near me." I said scratching under her chin. Thorin shook her head and backed away. "Move on." He said before starting to walk again.

"So her name is Echo?" Bilbo asked walking beside me. I nodded. "Yeah, I named her that because she always echo's that last part of whatever I say." I said. "Whatever I say!" Echo squeaked. Bilbo chuckled and nodded, "I see. Well, the name fits." He said. I smiled and nodded. I pulled Echo off my back and set her on the ground. She walked beside me, not straying very far. I noticed she tried to keep up with me so matter what. 'I wonder if she can fly yet...' I thought. I picked her up by her middle and claimed up a rock. I set her down. "Stay" I said. I climbed back down and stood below her. "Jump down Echo! I'll catch you!" I yelled. "What on earth are you doing lass?" Bofur asked. "I wanna see if she can fly!" I said. "Come on echo! I won't let you fall!!" I said. "She's a dragon she won't listen to-" Thorin was cute off when Echo hurled herself off the rock and glided to me, knocking me down to the ground in the process. I sat up on my elbows and looked at Thorin. "You where saying~?" I asked. He huffed and shook his head. I looked at Echo, "well, that settles that. You can glide but not fly." I said. "Not fly!" She squeaked back. I giggled and scratched her head.
