"I still can't believe that your sibling is that crazy," Virgil told Logan, grinning. "Electrocuting someone when they were in kindergarten?"
"It's fairly easy for Quinn to do that. They have our mother's powers, which is generating and controlling electricity."
"I can definitely see Remus being friends with them."
"Oh, they are awesome," Remus chimed in. "Last year, the two of us blew up a jerky professor's car, and it barely took any effort."
"That's because you had me helping," Janus reminded him.
The six of them had finally gotten back to the Academy, ready to crash in someone's dorm and binge-watch a TV show or two to celebrate the end of the week. The twins had paid for the pizza, as well as the stuff from the various shops they went to and the cab ride back home (apparently, the Sanchez-De Luca family was ultra-rich).
"All right, whose room are we gonna do our binge session in?" Virgil announced.
"Me and Remus's room is a bit of a mess," Janus said.
"I wonder why," Roman muttered, earning him two stepped-on feet from both Remus and Janus.
"I'd be happy to host!" Patton chirped. "Me and Lo have a really nice TV, and I can get napkins and plates so we can eat all the food we bought."
"I do store all of my inventions in the robotics lab," Logan mused. "There should potentially be enough room for all of us."
"Aw, really? I wanted to be able to wreck something," Remus said, looking disappointed.
"Sorry to burst your figurative bubble."
The group continued to head up to the main building, only to get met by a mildly-defeated looking Remy.
"Something wrong?" Patton asked, looking concerned.
"Just a wounded pride," Remy answered, scratching the back of his neck. "Kapoor, you can put the notebook away until our next bet."
Janus's eyes widened. "You---you mean---"
"Yeah, two guys from Head Offices came by the school and walked in on me lecturing one of the juniors," he said. "I checked the rules, and it counts. Thirty strikes."
"Oh, fuck yeah!" Remus cheered, pumping his fist into the air. "We finally get to see it!"
"Wait, you're going to show us the Library?" Roman exclaimed. "Now?"
"Yeah, no time like the present." Remy jerked his head towards the doors. "Come on in."
Buzzing with excitement, the group followed him into the main building. The lobby was empty, mostly because everyone was either in their rooms or at dinner.
Remy walked up to the base of the fountain and cleared his throat.
"Every secret contains truth, and every truth is a gateway to knowledge," Remy recited.
The floor circling the fountain opened up, revealing a spiral stairwell that wound down into darkness.
Remy smirked. "Ye ask and ye shall receive. Staff first."
........
"I'm actually kind of interested to see what this is all about," Virgil admitted as they continued making their way down the stairs. "These idiots told me about it today, and it sounds pretty intriguing."
"Oh, it is," Remy said. "Y'all are gonna love it. Trust me."
"In what universe am I an idiot?" Logan questioned.
