Chapter 9

The Search

Paige~

When I woke up I was alone in Mommy's room. Mr. Goodbear wasn't with me and that made me kinda sad. I looked around for him but I only found Blanket. I walked around on mommy and I's floor but I still couldn't find him. I didn't see mommy either. I went to a floor and almost everyone was drinking the bad apple juice.

"Where is my mommy?" I asked. Mr. No-Manners pick up the bottle and put it on the table where I couldn't reach.

"She just went to run a few errands she'll be back soon" I couldn't keep my lip from quivering, or keep my eyes from watering when I spoke again.

"I can't find Mr. Goodbear" I said sniffling. The five men looked at each other before turning their attention back to me.

"We can help you find him its no big deal," Mr. Gray said. "why dont you stay here with Bruce and we'll search for him" The men got up and went down to the floor I had already searched. When they said he wasn't there I began crying. Then they said they would look somewhere else I tried to stop my crying.

"Mr. Goodbear is gonna be so upset with me when we find him" I told 'Bruce'. Thats too normal, maybe I'll call him...Mr. Smart because I allways hear him saying smart stuff.

We've all looked where Paige had been in the last few days and we couldn't find her teddy bear. We even had Steve go down th the bakery to see if she had left it there, but it wasn't. That's when we all searched floor by floor, I even checked the vents to be sure. The bear wasn't anywhere to be found. And of course when we told Paige this, she started bawling.

Her face turned completly red and tears flooded her face as her deafening wails grew louder.

"Its not here" Tony said clearly frustrated.

"Well then what do you suggest we do?" Steve's question had made a light bulb go off in Stark's head and I prepared for the worse.

So that's when we basically trashed the tower and started to flip things over. I found a couple of lost arrowheads under the couch and made a note to stop losing them before Nat gets on my ass. It was then we all agreed the damned teddy bear had fallen off the face of the earth. We knew Natasha would probably maim all of us if we let her see Paige like this, so we tried everything to get her to stop crying. We tried bribing her with money (Stark's idea), bribing her with a million other teddy bears (also stark's idea), buying her ice cream, but suddenly now she's lactose intolerant, and eventually bought her a puppy.

Im gonna admit that it was probably the worse way to handle the situation, but at least she stopped crying.

Natasha~

The elevator door opened and what I saw was disaster. My first thought was that the tower had been attacked, but someone would have let me know, even JARVIS would have made me aware. I went into Paige's room to find her sitting on the bed petting a puppy with all the guys sleeping around her. As I walk closer to her, avoiding Thor who was asleep on the floor. I noticed her puffy eyes and her tear stained face. I felt a surge of anger run through me but quickly suppressed it when she looked up at me with her sad crystal blue eyes.

"Mommy" she said with a scratchy throat reaching up to me. I shushed her and picked her up off of the bed carrying her into the livingroom part of the floor. I gave her Mr. Goodbear since she left him in the car and it would be pretty hard for her to sleep without it. I flipped the couch back in its normal upright position and laid on the couch with Paige. It was half past midnight and I'm sure that if she was crying she'd be out like a light in a few minutes. When the time came she did fall asleep, and so did I.

I fell asleep thinking of how each of the guys would look in a thigh-choke hold.
