The next morning came quickly, Severus was up early and he started making breakfast. Grace heard the noise of dishes clattering around the room. She sat up, rubbed her eyes and looked around the room.
She got up and opened her cheat of drawers. She pulled out a long sleeved, dark pink t-shirt and a pair of jeans. She brushed her hair, teeth and picked up a book. She went downstairs, sat in her mothers chair and began to read.
Severus looked in the living room and smiled. He saw Grace sitting on the chair, reading. Grace looked up and saw her father looking at her, so she smiled back at him.
"Good morning father," Grace said,
"Good morning Grace," Severus replied, he looked back at his food and he finished cooking. He was making sausages, eggs and toast. When he plated the food, he placed two eggs, three sausages and one piece of toast on the plate. He put the plates on the kitchen.
"Grace, your breakfast is ready." Severus said,
"Ok father," she replied, she stood up and placed her book on her mothers chair. She walked into the kitchen and sat down.
"Father I had a dream last night and my mother was there." Grace said,
"Your mother was there?" Severus asked,
"Yes." Grace replied,
"Was she tall? With long black hair?"
"Yes father, she was." Grace replied.
Severus finished eating his breakfast and so did Grace. She placed her plate in the sink and Severus placed his in, after washing them he sat down in the living room. He wiped his wand and made the fire. Grace was back on her mothers chair.
"How did you know it was your mother?" He asked,
"I guessed. She looked my mother and I wouldn't dream of any other woman." Grace replied, "what are we doing today?"
"I thought that we could go to Diagon Alley and get your new school things. If you want to?" Severus said,
"Yes I think it would be best." Grace replied.
Grace went upstairs and put a pair of socks on and her converse trainers. She came downstairs with her beaded bag with the charm on it. Severus stood up and held out his arm. Grace held it and they went to Diagon Alley.
Diagon Alley was empty and every shop was starting to open. Grace had a list of what she needed for school.
"Father I need some new school books, new robes and quills with ink." Grace said,
"Ok first I'll take you to my vault as you get that as well. Your old vault has been destroyed and your things have came to my vault. I'll show you what you have." Severus replied.
They walked down the Alley, to the bank. Many goblins were in there counting coins. There were piles of gold shining coins all over the room. Grace walked over to the head goblin at the end of the hall.
"Father, am I going to your vault?" Grace asked,
"Yes, I'll do the talking Grace," Severus replied, he walked over to the goblin as well, "We wish to enter my vault." Severus said, the goblin nodded. He opened the gate behind him and showed them through.
The ride on a little cart was the worst thing Grace could imagine. The seats were as hard as rock and the track was bumpy. The goblin had a hold of the key. He was sitting on a seat where the steering wheel was.
When they arrived at the vault, Grace climbed out of the cart and Severus climbed out after her. Grace turned green.
"Grace are you ok?" He asked,
"Yes I'm fine, just a bit nauseous," Grace replied, Severus took the key and opened the vault.
There were piles of coins. The highest pile was gold the smallest was silver and the medium sized pile was bronze. Behind the piles there were tables full of different items. Jewels, goblets and plates. But in the corner was a box. It was closed. There was a tag. In which it was for Grace.
"Father why does that box have me name on it?" She asked,
"Grace when your mother died, she left you that in her will and I had to put it in here so I wouldn't loose it." Severus replied, he walked over to the box and placed it in his pocket.
Grace got all of the money she needed and left the vault with Severus following.
