The death eaters daughter

Chapter 7

They ended up in the forest. Near Hogwarts.
"Father, did you know that he wanted me?" Grace asked,
"No, I had no idea. But he won't get you. He may know where we live, he may know that we both go to Hogwarts. He won't touch you. You are the only family I have left." Severus replied, "I won't let him take you away from me." He paused thinking what his life would be if she wasn't with him.
"When we get to Hogwarts, you'll come with me. There is a room next to Dumbledore's office. It has two beds and through the year me and you will stay there. You won't be alone from now on. We'll stay in that room and we will be protected. Dumbledore knows about this." He continued, they started to walk to Hogwarts, "your luggage will be there. We'll stay there until the end of the year. Everything that we got you for school and your luggage will travel to Hogwarts tonight."
They stopped at the gate. Grace held Severus' hand.
"Everything will be ok father, we will stay together. Even he won't take me away from my father." Grace said, Severus became reassured. The great gate opened, they held each other hand in hand and started walking through.
They walked until they hit the main stairway at Hogwarts. They walked up a few stair cases then along a few corridors. The door was hidden. They took hands again and walked through the door. It closed behind Severus and Grace was shocked. Her luggage was there.
The room was large with two single, four poster beds. They had cream sheets and white pillows. At the end of the row was a chest of drawers. One for each bed and in between the beds was a bedside table with a small gas lamp. There was an armchair opposite the door and it was brown.
"Wow I never knew a room in Hogwarts could be like this." Grace said,
"It was my old room as a young substitute teacher. Your mother shared it with me and we fell in love." Severus replied, "your birthday is in three days. Isn't it?"
"Yes father and I can't wait. Will you tell me about my mother?" She asked, Severus sat down on the chair.
"She was wonderful, loving and she had these big bright green eyes. She always had something dark and dangerous behind them. When she found out that she was pregnant she went to a muggle shop and bought pink paint and the letter 'g'. That's the letter on your door. She loved you the minute that you started growing. She would sit on the red chair with a blanket in her legs and just watch her stomach. I would bring her breakfast in bed. She would lie there and show me that you were moving. She would get a taxi every Monday and go to the park and have a walk. Just to get away from the house. When she got back I would be there and she would place my hand on her stomach and ask if I could feel you moving." Severus said, Grace formed tears in her eyes.
"Father what did you do when she died and you had me?" Grace asked,
"I looked for a muggle family that would look after you and I told them to change your name. They took you in and I started to look for Hogwarts. My favourite subject at school was potions and I was the best student. I applied for defends against the dark arts but they turned me down. I applied for potions and they accepted." Severus replied, "when you eventually came to Hogwarts I was happy. When I saw that you were in gryffindor I was really mad. You were daughters of two slytherins and you were placed differently. I went to Dumbledore that night and asked. He knew all about you. He said that it was because I gave you to a different name. But when you came into potions class that first time I wanted to speak to but I couldn't. You grew and I couldn't see you in private."
"That must have been awful." Grace said, Severus nodded. He stood up and walked over to Grace. He moved her hair and kissed her forehead.
"I love you father," Grace whispered,
"I love you too Gracie." Severus replied,
"Grace you should get some sleep as I will."
"Yes father, how does Dumbledore know that we are here?" Grace asked,
"I sent an owl." Severus replied.
