Chapter 1.

Scarlett

The rain is pounding against my window when I wake up, 6:47 am is the time. The sun can barely be seen through the clouds, I don't want to get out of bed, but I know I have to. It's the first day of school, not my first actual day of school though. It's the first day of year 12, I hate it because I still have to last a whole year, but I love it because its the last year i'll have to last through school.

'Morning Scar, sleep well?', my dad says to me as I approach the kitchen, 'Eh, it was alright', I reply, 'Are you picking up Luke today?', he asks, 'Yep, at 7:30', I tell him, 'Okay, well I have to go off to work now, have a great day Scar', he says kissing my forehead then walking out the door. I love my dad, he has done such a great job raising me since my mum died. Oh yeah, my mum. She was in a car accident when I was really young, I sometimes have flashbacks to the day my dad told me she had passed away, I was young as I said, so I didn't really get upset, and I still don't. My mum was an amazing woman and she always wanted me to happy, so I don't why it should change just because she isn't here, so I don't get upset when someone mentions her name, because I know she wouldnt want that.

I quickly get changed and do my makeup, I leave my hair down seeing as its naturally wavy and I like how it looks. I grab my bag and my keys and head to my car its good that Luke's house is only a 10 minute drive away.

Luke is my cousin, he moved to Sydney after my mum died, he moved back here a few weeks ago, before he left he was the size of the bin in our kitchen and now he was almost an adult, it was pretty scary.

'Hello Aunt Liz, is Luke ready?', I ask, just when shes about to answer Luke walks to the front door and nods, 'Have fun you two!', Liz says as we get into my car. Luke doesn't say anything for the whole trip, which makes me know that he is nervous.

We get to school and go get Luke's class schedule, 'We're in Maths, English and Music together', Luke nods, he still hasn't spoken to me. The bell rings and I walk Luke to his first class, 'This is your homeroom, i'll meet you here at Recess okay?', Luke bites his lip, 'You'll be fine Luke', I reassure him, he nods and walks into his class.

Luke

I walk into class and see two boys sitting at the back of the class, they spot me looking at them and call me over. 'Sup, im Michael, this is Ashton', one of the boys says, 'Im Luke', I say, 'Nice to meet ya Luke. Why don't you sit with us?', Ashton says, I nod and sit in a chair next to Ashton.

Halfway through the class theres an announcement, 'Scarlett Hemmings to the principles office', it says, my head shoots up straight away, she better not have done anything stupid, If she gets sent home I wont manage. 'You know her Luke?', Michael asks, I nod. 'Damn, if you already know the hottest girl in school and its only the first day, you're doing well my friend', he says, 'She's my cousin', I tell him, 'Shit really??! Me and you are gonna get along very well then', michael smirks.
