6 : protection

you woke up as per normal, washed up and went down for breakfast. you find it weird because you can only hear 2 voices downstairs. you walked to the dining table and saw Kara and Da-Eun.

"well, only you two? where did the queen and king went to?"  you asked pouring a cup of milk for yourself.

"They didn't come home" Da-Eun said grabbing a piece of bread.

"Oh..okay.."  you said taking a seat. you looked at Da-Eun and saw bruises on her face.

"And what happened to you?" you asked Da-Eun, putting down your cup.

"why do you even care" she answered you with an attitude.

'well damnn.. alright then. girl just wanna know'

"alright.. none of my business i guess." you shrugged and was about to walk out of the house when they stopped you.

"wait. stop there." they demand.

you stopped and turn to look at them, shock.

"Did you just-" you were about to yell at them when Da-Eun's question stopped you.

"Did you know?" Da-Eun asked.

"about?"  

'this girl better get straight to the point'

"eomma and.. a old guy?" she asked almost looking disgusted.

"oh you mean her sugar daddy? yeah." you laughed.

'ew' both of them muttered

"how did you know?" you asked them.

"they were doing that when we came home early. that's when she stomped out of the house and never came home' Kara said sadly.

"oh.. don't worry. she will probably come home later.." you said with a low tone. It's not like you care if she comes home or not.

"Do you think appa knows? Maybe that's why he.. ran away?" Kara looked down on her plate.

"Its possible.. since eomma has been bringing him home for quite a while. There's no way appa doesn't know about this." you said frowning.

They both stared at their plates, not saying a word with a sad expression on their face. You rolled your eyes and sighed.

'am I feeling sad for them right now?'

"I have to go. I will take my leave, princesses." you were about to close the front door when they stopped you again.

"wait! we need your help. just this once." they plead.

"what now?" you were getting annoyed.

"we don't know how to get to school..." they looked down, embarrassed.

"right. appa is not here to send you two. you don't even know how to get to your own school? that's what you get for being such princesses." you sighed and grabbed a paper and a pen.

"I ain't a taxi, so you two will follow these directions and figure your way on yourselves. alright? alright." you passed them the paper.

"and finally. you two actually have a soft side huh. don't forget to lock the door. see ya." you closed the door, leaving them dumbfounded.

you looked at the time and rushed to school.

you rushed to the front gate and saw Jake waiting for you.

"overslept?" he approached you.

"nah. just met some lost dogs on the way. so, feeling better?" you link your arm with his.
