15 - New Friends

Okay, so in the last chapter I kinda offhand hinted at Something, Musume likes Yaoi, but only really sees the gays as fetish material, not actual people.

(Chloe's pov)

So we all just ended up not teaching Deku about society today? I thought to myself as I bandaged my wrist and ankle, I now have three baby blue glitter coated acrilic nails, with slight bloodstains. I put on Shinso's hoodie, deciding to text my boyfriend, I picked up my phone. I noticed he actually texted me while I was handling my wrist and ankle.

'is there a reason we didn't meet up today?' 

He asked.

'sorry... Todo was drugged, and I got into a fight with a bitch, things didn't go well for either of us, my phone's even more broken.'

I explained.

'why do I feel like those events are connected? And we're probably gonna have to buy you a new phone.'

He accused.

'Musume attempted to rape Todo so I tried to kick her ass.... And I'm gonna need some more bandages and maybe some sanity?'

I listed.

'that's a tall order, anyways, what exactly happened with Todoroki getting drugged?' 

He asked, making sure nothing happened to our peppermint prince-

'well, I went back to Todo's house to bring Midoriya because I had a bad feeling about the message Todo was sent, we got there before Musume actually did anything, and Midoriya snuck Todo away from Musume, and brought him home... I can't actually guarantee Midoriya wouldn't do anything, we kinda forgot to explain how consent fully works, we can't fully hold it against Midoriya if he didn't understand...' 

I explained. He took a while to respond.

'oh'

'yeah... I may not be doing dance for a while, my ankle's fucked.'

I claimed, moving on.

'that's sad to hear...'

He responded, I explained exactly what happened during the fight, how I got two nails lodged into my ankle and one in my wrist. I also mentioned how his hoodie is bringing me comfort, as it smells like him.

(Time skip)

I sat on the couch, sketching down an idea on my drawing tablet, I convinced Midoriya not to try to kill Musume until he got a bell. A. By then he'd have less of a motive as it would've been a while since the incident, and B. If he had a bell I wouldn't have to bring him there, so it'd be less suspicious. Todo was sitting with Midoriya, we're supposed to go to get Midoriya tested to see if he can earn a bell today, and Todo wants to make sure Midoriya remembers the "most important" stuff. 

"C'mon, we need to leave! If he knows, he knows, let's go!" Shinso rushed, as it was getting pretty close to being time for Midoriya's appointment. Todo reluctantly let it go, and the four of us all rushed to the building. When hybrids first started becoming commonplace, the H.W.B association formed, to ensure that humans and hybrids could co-exist without issue. The problem was that hybrids often defaulted to animalistic instinct, rather than Human logic and reasoning. So hybrids are given bells to show that they understand how to behave in society, people have started taking that to mean that only hybrids with bells can be trusted. Ferals barely even know how to speak or walk upright, they act and thus are treated exactly like wild animals. Streys, which we're lead to believe Midoriya was, were most likely abandoned when they were young, they have a grasp of language from watching humans interact, but don't really understand why humans do what they do. Pets are hybrids who were raised by humans, but either were never brought to take the exam, or refused to take it, giving up any freedom they could've warned, for the sake of having an easy life instead. Hybrids with bells, are considered closest to human, but it is still advised that they live with their owners, as they'd have a legal and moral obligation to take care of them.

As Midoriya was taking his test, and Todo was getting him officially registered, I noticed someone familiar walk in. It's that girl Musume was harassing, she walked up to the desk, placing down a broken rose-gold bell and a complete fine bell painted black. I walked over to talk to her, she seemed kinda stressed out.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked, she looked over to me, like me and Todo her eyes were two different colors, green and red.

"Yeah, just, my ferret is being placed under house arrest, Because my kitsune got attacked by stray dogs, and she nearly killed them defending her, so now I have to get a tracker placed on Andi for a month, and get Cora's bell fixed as the dogs broke it" she explained. She looked at me, "hey... Aren't you the girl who threw her phone at Musume?" She asked.

"Yeah!" I confirmed, proudly.

"Thanks for getting her attention off me... Sorry we keep meeting when I'm in the middle of a personal crisis..." She looked down. 

"No, it's fine, Musume keeps insisting you're friends, but it doesn't really seem like it, you wanna hangout with us instead? I could try helping with Andi?" I asked. 

"Sure, I'm not really sure how much you can help, since it's more a personality issue rather than just not knowing better, but you seem nice" she agreed, giving me her number, before getting the new bells and leaving.
