C H A P T ER # 9 - Eavesdropping

Author Note: After many long years of pain and sweat and tears, your update has come. I apologize to all of you who were waiting. I didn't mean to abandon you but (I did) please accept my apologies ＞︿＜ alright anyway let's get on with the chapter :) and to all of you who were waiting for a bit of jeraphina lol well (here it is)

As I was looking for a new queen, I started to brainstorm the list of possible girls. I needed strong girls. Of course, not as strong as me but people who were fit to take over in a leadership role. And strong in ability as well, or else they could never take order. As I walked past the library, I saw a familiar pink-haired girl, Remi. 

I could bet she would be a good choice for Queen. But would she want it? And would she ask questions? But just as I was about to approach Remi, she stepped out into the hallway so I followed her. She was talking with... Arlo. As I strained to hear what they were saying, I accidentally dropped my water bottle. 

The sound of crunching glass alerted both Arlo and Remi to my prescence. Crap. Just as I was about to run, somebody shoved me into the closet to hide me.

"What the hell!?" I hissed, but I was met with amber eyes.

"John!?" I nearly shouted.

"Keep your voice down, I'm trying to help you." this closet was tight. John's legs were awkwardly wrapped around my waist and my arms were wrapped around his. A sort of intimate position, wouldn't you think?

Suddenly flustered, I blushed (a little) and tried to untangle myself from him. Unfortunately, it just wasn't possible. But I heard Arlo and Remi conversing, which distracted me from my thoughts.

"Seraphina is planning something. Don't let her rope you in.

"Got it." Remi responded and then they left. How did they know? I heard their steps getting closer and closer to the closet. I pressed up against him, trying to hide behind him. I accidentally brushed my hand against his face.

Was he blushing? I didn't even do anything really. But Remi and Arlo flung open the door of the closet.

"I caught you!" Remi declared. Crap. For real this time.

"Were you eavesdropping?" Arlo asked. John looked stoic. 

"Like I'd tell you."

"You better watch your mouth," Arlo responded, "before I crush you." And those two were at it again. Luckily John had the wisdom to not start an argument.

"But what were you doing in here?" Remi asked. There was no other way. It would look too suspicious.

"Umm.... well actually we're in a secret relationship." wait what?! What was John saying!

"Um, actually-" but then John pressed his lips to mine. I was shocked speechless, firstly because that was not what I was expecting him to say, but secondly, because the... kiss I supposed you could call it actually felt good.

It ended way too soon. But Arlo and Remi just looked at us, speechless, and then they left. 

"Why did you do that?!"

"Well what other choice did we have?"

"I could've froze time you know!" I just stared at him. What had we gotten into? As I stood up, a bulletin board was right next to us. And the headline shocked me.

JERAPHINA? IT HAS BEEN LEAKED BY ARLO, WELLSTON HIGH'S RESIDENT KING THAT JOHN, A NEW STUDENT AND SERAPHINA, THE MOST POWERFUL STUDENT IN THE SCHOOL ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP! STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEWS!

Damn Arlo. I think he suspected something and told Isen to leak it off to the press. We all knew that Arlo had an almost complete hold on the press.

"What are we going to do?" I asked John, fearful for the first time in my life.

"Pretend." he responded.
