As I drive us down town, I can't help but sneak glances at Grace. She looks so different from when she ran into my arms at the park, she looks relaxed, and my God her smile...
"Are you excited?" I ask.
"Yes and no. I'm excited to do something for myself, but I'm worried I might not like the change." She replies offering a shy smile.
I take her hand and give it a reassuring squeeze. "Change can be good, but I understand why you might be feeling nervous. Like Namjoon said though, you'll still look beautiful." I smile as I see her cheeks flush pink.
"You guys should really stop doing that, I'm almost permanently blushing." She jokes rubbing her thumb over mine as we held hands.
"You'll get used to it, I promise."
*-*
As we I turn off the car, I notice Grace's body has now tensed up, her pulling her hands up into her sleeves to cover herself.
"Hey, I'll be with you the whole time, I'm not going anywhere, and if you want to leave, we can leave."
"I know...it's just...I haven't been out like this in so long, it's kind of scary, and I'm trying to keep it together..." she explains softly.
"Are you feeling little?"
"Mhm, but I don't want to slip now, I'll end up with rainbow hair or something ridiculous." She half heartedly laughs.
"How about we make a deal? When we get home, I'll get everyone together and we'll have a big craft session in the garden if you're still feeling little?" I suggest trying to help.
"Really? Can we get some paints?" She says her eyes shining excitedly.
"Sure thing sweetheart, we can pick some up on the way to lunch." I smile.
"Ok, let's go get a haircut for this mess!" She giggles ruffling her own hair.
Grace's POV
As we walk down the street, Taehyung's hand is holding mine tightly, and it feels good. He leads me to a salon, it looks modern and it's not overly busy which I'm thankful for. As we head inside we're greeted by a cheery woman at the desk who addresses us as "such a cute couple" making me blush furiously. I stand next to Tae looking down at my feet as he speaks to the woman at the desk, not once correcting her mistake of thinking we're a couple. Why?
Eventually I'm seated in the salon chair in front of the large lit mirror. I make every effort to not look at myself focusing instead on fiddling with the cuffs of my jumper.
"So I hear you're looking to make a big change! Did you have any ideas?" Comes a happy voice from behind me, their hands scooping up my hair and running their fingers through it. I can't help but flinch slightly at the foreign touch, luckily the hairdresser doesn't seem to notice. I take a deep breath steadying my nerves, remembering why I'm here and why I'm doing it. I'm doing this for me...
*-*
After what seems like forever, the hairdresser finishes off my hair with one final spritz of hairspray, before standing back admiring her work.
"So, what do you think?!" She asks enthusiastically.
Guess I have to look...
For the first time since getting here, I finally take a proper look at myself in the imposing mirror in front of me. I take it all in, my eyes widening as I finally see myself. My brown hair no longer long and how he wanted it, but now sat just above my shoulders, layered to perfection. I notice something strange on my face, I hadn't seen it properly in a long time. A smile...

"Thank you, it's perfect..." I say trying to hold back tears.
She claps excitedly, giving my shoulders a squeeze before turning to see Tae's reaction. I watch in the mirror as he gets up from his seat and walks to stand behind me. "Beautiful." He says simply.
Taehyung's POV
Taehyung stop staring, she's going to notice and you're going to feel like an idiot.
As we walk around the craft section of the shop, I can't help but staring at her, she looks so...different. When I say different, I don't mean that she wasn't beautiful before. What I mean is she doesn't have that constant look of fear in her eyes like she's waiting for something to happen, she isn't constantly looking at her feet or avoiding eye contact. She doesn't look sad and broken. It's good different...
"Ooh can we get these please Tae?" She asks excitedly holding out a pack of poster paints with all the colours she could need.
She asked for something she wanted!
"Of course sweetheart, pop them in the basket. Is there anything else you want? What about some brushes to use with the paints?" I suggest with a smile.
"Good point, is that ok? I don't want to..." but I cut her off.
"It's more than ok, I'm happy you've found the courage to ask for things you want, it makes me happy knowing your comfortable with me. You get whatever you want." I explain.
"Oh...well I have no reason not to feel comfortable with you Tae, you're probably one of the nicest people I've ever met, I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt me." She offers a shy smile.
My heart swells when I hear those words, my cheeks flushing a soft pink as I scratch the back of my neck, her smile widening as she sees my reaction.
"Come on, it's nearly time to meet the others for lunch." She says brightly as she drops a pack of different sized paint brushes in the basket, offering me her now empty hand and I readily take it.
This girl never fails to surprise me...
As we get to the checkout, I notice her eyes lingering on the headbands, taking in their prettiness. "Which one?" I ask curiously.
"I don't know they're all so nice..." she sighs dreamily.
"Can I pick one for you?"
"I guess? I mean if you want to..." she asks confused.
"No peeking then, you can have it when we get home." I smile before turning her so she was facing the other way.
