101 Letters Unsent. Ziall.

Number Sixteen

Step One : Make Everyone Think You're Okay.

I cleaned up and everything and decided to write Niall a short letter to go with the others.

Niall,

Okay today is the start of my plan. Everyone will think I'm okay now and it will be perfect. Sorry this isn't a long letter but hey, gotta get to work right?

I pulled my phone out and typed Jalen's number in before holding the phone up to my ear.

" Hello? " I heard his voice on the other side.

" Hey Jalen, it's Zayn. " I said while picking out some clothes and walking into the bathroom.

" Oh hey Zayn! How have you been? " he asked me happily.

" Good. Listen I wanted to know if you wanted to meet at the park today? " I asked while turning the water on.

" Sure! I'll be there at about 12 okay? Bye Zayn! "

" Bye! " I hung up and check the time.

11:02.

I smiled and jumped in the shower after stripping from my clothes. I washed my hair and body slowly and just thought of everything. I'm going to invite Niall to the park to talk to him also.

I jumped out and dried off before throwing on my Black v-neck, white chinos and some black Surpas. I grabbed my phone, after styling my hair into its normal quiff and called Niall.

" Hellooo!? " he chimed. I laughed.

" Hey Ni. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up in the park? Ya know to catch up? " I asked him smiling. I was going through all of the letters I wrote them. It was a lot honestly.

" Sure! But I can't really stay for long because me and Ed are leaving today at three. " he sounded excited and I heard a laugh in the background.

" Oh it's fine. I just wanted to catch up a bit and let you meet Jalen! " I told him.

" Jalen? " he asked confused now.

" Yeah, you'll see. Meet me there at noon okay? Bye Ni! " I hung up before I even thought about saying I love you and check the time again before practically sprinting towards the park. It was 11:50.

When I got there I saw Jalen sitting on the benches and walked over to him smiling.

" Hey Jalen! " I said making him turn around and a smile grew on his face.

" Zayn! " he said jumping up and hugging me. I laughed and hugged him back. " What did you want to meet here for? "

" I don't know, I just thought maybe you, me and Niall could talk? " he smiled and nodded.

We were talking and just laughing for a while until I saw Niall staring at me weirdly. I turned my head and my eyes lit up.

" Niall! " I yelled motioning for him to come over to the bench. He walked over and sat down with a smile.

" Hey! You're Zayn's ex right? " I saw Niall tense at the word but he smiled and nodded. That kind of hurt.

" Yupp. I am. " he told Jalen. Jalen nodded.

" I'm Jalen. Zayn's new best friend I guess? " I chuckled and nodded in agreement.

" Nice to meet you Jalen. " they shook hands and Jalen's phone started to ring. He gulped.

" I uh.. I have to go. I'm so sorry I couldn't stay... Um... Bye Zayn! I'll talk to you later I hope! Bye Niall! " I yelled bye and Niall waved and it was just us.

" So, how are you and Ed? " I asked him. He smiled.

" We're doing great! We're going to New York today! " he said with a huge smile on his face. He's going to New York without me. Oh well I guess.

" That'll be fun! " I said with a smile. He looked at me in confusion. " What? " I asked him.

" How are you? " he asked seriously. I knew what he was aiming for and I saw Louis appear beside him. He was giving me this look that was asking me if I actually was going to lie to Niall or not. I nodded and he smiled a bit before disappearing again.

" I've been really good actually. I mean sure I still get pretty upset and all but I've learned to live with it. " this caused Niall to smile.

" That's good. Well Zayn, I am really sorry for what I did. " he told me.

" It's okay Niall. " I told him and stood up.

" I better get going then? " I nodded and we just stood there awkwardly. I broke the awkwardness and hugged him tightly. I knew it was going to be the last hug I'll ever give him so might as well make it a good one. Niall stood shocked for a minute before hugging me back and I felt tingled fly through my body.

We stood there hugging each other for a while until his phone started to ring. I knew my eyes were watering because that would be the last ever hug I give him but I blinked them back.

We pulled apart and he pulled out his phone but ignored the call.

" Niall? " I asked him. I want one last kiss.

" Hmm? " he hummed.

" C-can I have one last kiss? " I asked shyly. I saw his eyes widen a bit but nothing major.

" I-uh. Not here. Somewhere else because I don't want Ed to see. " he told me and I perked up with a smile on face. I nodded and held my hand out for him to grab. He hesitantly grabbed it and I started to run to my house. He had to get his shirt from there also so it was a good excuse.

" Where are we going? " he asked me while trying to keep up. I chuckled happily. I feel like we're together again.

" Mine. You have to get your shirt also. " I told him as I slowed down because we were almost there. I let go of his hand but he didn't let go of mine and I smiled to myself.

I opened the door to my house and started for the stairs. Just as I opened the door to my room, I remembered I never put the letters away and I stopped in the hallway.

" Hold on. I'll be right back. " he nodded confused and I quickly walked into my room and put the letters away before re-opening the door. Niall walked in slowly and looked at his phone and frowned.

" I have to leave in a minute. " he told me and I just shrugged the frown away. I didn't want him walking into my bathroom because that had everything I was going to use at the end of the week.

" Okay, well here's your shirt. " I handed him his red polo and he smiled and walked towards me.

" Thanks. " he said softly before connecting our lips together slowly. I instantly replied to the all too familiar touch. It was just a simple kiss and nothing more.

We pulled away and I kept my eyes closed not wanting it to be over.

" Bye Zayn. I'm so sorry. " Niall said one last time before pecking my cheek and leaving. I slowly opened my eyes as I heard his start towards the door.

" Bye Nialler. " I whispered. He left and I collapsed on the ground. I put my head in my hands and took deep breaths.

Why can't that happen everyday? Laughing, running, smiling over stupid things. Teasing each other over everything. Kissing each other sweetly. Going on vacation together. Why did he have to end it?

Maybe my plan will be sped up and I'll be gone before either of them get back.
