Do you ever dream of things that have happened but wish they turned out differently?
I do all the time, I wished my mother had survived. I wish the Red Dragons would stop hassling us. I wish things in high school went differently but would it have made a difference? Probably not… I was 17 when I went to a party with my friends, Ricki and I had a fight, all I wanted to do was get drunk and have a good time with my friends and worry about the fight later.
It was just a stupid fight anyways.
But as the night went on my friends and I became drunker I wasn't caring about anything around me. So as my friends were dancing with random guys I was sitting alone, pouring myself a drink after drink. I was checking my phone every few minutes to see if Ricki had called or texted but nothing. So I decided to go and dance with my friends but as the night went on I felt hands on my hips, the guy led me upstairs and as we started to kiss I realised it wasn't who I thought it was. So as I tried to leave the guy forced himself onto me, as I screamed out for help no one could hear it as the music was so loud.
He left me sitting on the floor in a bedroom.
When I got home I stayed in my room for days, I turned off my phone and started to ignore my family but when my brother came into my room wondering what was going on with me I broke down crying. I told him and my father everything before I eventually stopped talking altogether.
I lost friends and dropped out of school.
But when Ricki came to the front door… I couldn't face him… I couldn't tell him what had happened. So as I sat in my room I listened to my brother telling him. I couldn't even watch his reaction to it. For a long time, I blamed him. Maybe if we didn't fight I wouldn't have gone to that party and I wouldn't have been….
For a long time, I blamed him…
I wouldn't have dropped out of high school…
I know now that I should have blamed myself...
But I guess some things happen for a reason… maybe we weren't meant to be together… I just didn't know.
Even now as I stare up into the night sky, smoking a joint I still didn't know. I leaned back against my window frame as I flicked the ash from my joint. As I leaned my head against the frame I couldn't help but think about that kiss Ricki and I shared the other day. The tingles I felt running through my body as our lips touched, even when he pulled me closer it felt so intimate, so familiar that I had missed it so much. I had missed the soft touch of his lips or the way he used to hold my body.
I groaned, bumping my head against the frame.
The stupid fight was over me joining the 3rd Street Saints instead of going off to college.

"Want to tell me what happened?" I asked Leah, the DNA test came back and it turned out that Leah was my 17 -year-old half-sister. Leah looked up from her plate as we sat across from each other at the diner. I had taken her out for some dinner since I wanted to ask her some questions, I just had to break through that shy, nervous barrier she held.
"My mother died when I was 10 and I was given to our dad by the state… it started as yelling then it went to hitting. When I tried to fight back or answer back it got worse…" her eyes glanced down towards her burger and chips as I leaned back in the booth. I knew my father wouldn't change, he was still the same old drunken mess.
"I...I'm sorry about your ma," I tell her, she nods her head slightly and eats a chip from her plate. "But I have to ask… how did you know I was here and part of an MC?"
"When I went to school with a black eye once, my English teacher was the only one that really took notice about it. A few days had gone by and she gave me a piece of paper with your name on it. I guess dad's last name sounded so familiar to her." She shrugged her shoulders. "I looked you up while I had a free period at school and saw that you were part of a motorcycle club."
"Did you go to the New York charter?" I asked her but she shook her head.
"No, it said where you were but I didn't know if you would turn me away… or say that I was lying about who I was…"
"Then what made you come now?"
"Dad had found the money that I was saving and said that I had been stealing from him but I had gotten myself a job at the diner around the corner. A few days ago when I came home, he was waiting for me. Empty bottles of alcohol were everywhere, so I knew he was blind drunk. He started to yell and then it turned into hitting and kicking. I had blacked out and when I woke up I knew I had to get out, so while he was out I packed light and managed to get myself to work where my boss gave me some money and bought me a bus ticket here." She tells me.
"Y... you're safe here," I told her before we were interrupted by Sue who owned the diner.
"Hi sweetheart, sorry I hadn't come over. I've been flat out back there but here is your favourite" she smiles placing two plates of cheesecake on the table.
"You didn't have to do that," I tell Sue but she waves me off before turning to Leah.
"My, aren't you gorgeous, you both look like twins" Sue smiles at Leah.
"This is Leah, she's my half-sister," I told her
"Oh wow! It was very nice to meet you. I better get back to work. Say hi to everyone for me" Sue smiles, before walking away to greet some other people.
Once we were back at the clubhouse, Hawk had given Leah her own dorm but since most of the guys had old ladies now there were only a handful of guys around that stayed at the club. Wolf, Spike, Echo and Corba along with the prospects.
I nodded my head towards my VP Echo and Spike as they played some pool while Wolf and Corba played cards. Leah walked over to the bar and sat on the stool.
"Did you get some information on her?" Echo asked once I was standing on the other side of the pool table.
"A little, she went through a lot. Losing her mum and then getting dumped on my father's doorstep. By the sounds of it, my father hasn't changed at all." I tell him and Spike.
"Do you think your dad will look for her? Since she is 17 and all" Spike asked me.
"To be honest, I don't know…" I shook my head. "She was scared that I would turn her away"
"Well, she's family and we protect family. No matter what" Echo says before taking his turn at the pool table.
