After apparating to Diagon Alley and walking to the shop, Sara and Fred got inside and found George standing behind the counter, and in front of him, on the other side of it a girl with olive skin and brown hair, that reached her shoulders in waves.
"Thanks George" she said brushing his hand with her own "my cousin is going to love this". Sara looked up at Fred and he looked down at her, sharing a knowing look. "See you around" she said, she then turned around a walked out of the shop. She smiled at Sara when she walked by her.
"Hi Georgie" Sara said smiling "Who was that?"
"Just a client" he responded "She was a year below us in Hogwarts, Ravenclaw"
"You seem to know an awful lot about her, considering she is only a client" The redhead blushed red, and his brother snickered beside Sara.
"Shut up" he said, and Sara chuckled.
Sara apparated to Ottery St. Catchpole with Fred following her.
"I didn't know Matilda's parents live so close to mine" he commented while walking beside Sara.
"No? I thought I had told you. Many times, Mati and I went to your house from hers, it is at walking distance"
"Huh, I don't think you mentioned it" he said thinking "Maybe we can visit my parents later if we can leave early from Mati's house"
"I don't know, I haven't seen your parents since, well, since you died" Fred looked at her surprised.
"Why not?"
"I just didn't know what to say to them"
"Mum must not be very happy about it, she loved you, you know" Sara sighed.
"Now I feel awful" Sara turned right and stepped onto a house's porch, then she knocked on the door "Maybe we should go. If we can go today, another day, I can tell George to come too"
"Hasn't he visit them?" Fred asked surprised.
"Not much" Sara responded. Suddenly the door of the house flew open and Matilda stood there looking at Sara weirdly.
"Why are you talking to yourself?" she asked. Sara eyes widened.
"Um, I, that's how you say hello to me? After not seeing me for weeks?" she said putting her hands on her hips "You've clearly missed me" she added sarcastically. Mati smiled and put the brown girl into a tight hug.
"Oh, shut up you over dramatic git" Mati pulled away still smiling "I have miss you Sara, why haven't you responded to my letters?" Sara smiled apologetically.
Somehow Sara seemed different since the last time she had seen her, Matilda thought. She seemed happier, but not really, like her happiness was temporary. She smiled more and laughed more, but Matilda could still see the sadness in her eyes, though there still was something different about the girl, and Matilda couldn't tell what it was, nor if it was good or bad.
Sara had changed after the war, she had never been the same after she lost Fred. At first, Matilda couldn't understand it, of course, she sympathized with her friend, but she couldn't completely understand her, she had never been in love. But now she could, after John. Meeting John and falling in love with him, she could really comprehend, she couldn't imagine what she would do if she ever lost John the way Sara had lost Fred. And she and Fred were, well they were something else, they brought out the best things in the other, they complemented each other, and Matilda had only wished she could ever find a love like that, she was thankful that she had. Of course, now, Sara was not the same, how could she? But it was odd, today she seemed better, and her friend wondered what had brought that change in her.
