"How did you-?" Fred's question was left hanging in the air. Seeming unable to complete his sentence because of how shocked he was. Sara's expression mirrored the one the redhead was wearing. Both utterly confused and surprised were not capable of forming any coherent words.
"What?" Javiero asked with a smirk plastered on his face "You really can't possibly think that you were the only magic folk in the town? How arrogant of you". With those words, Sara seemed to connect back to the reality facing her.
"No! Well, I don't know, never really thought about it" she replied shrugging "And let's face it Sajarraza is not a very big town"
"Indeed"
"So, you are a wizard" Fred concluded.
"Not quite" Javiero's smile altered a little, just a small flick on the commissure of his lips, almost imperceptible. In fact, if Sara wasn't so focused on him, she'd probably have missed it. She was sure Fred had. And just as fast as his lips tilted down, they tilted up again into a smirk. "I'm a squib".
The redhead huffed. "Are you a nice one? The only one I've met was a little old man, with greasy hair, a stinky cat, and proclivity to fall in any prank-"
"Fred" the young woman interrupted "That's not relevant at all" Fred looked at her offended.
"Come on woman! You can not deny that Filch was a sight for the sore eyes" In any other situation Sara would have laughed. In fact, it was these completely random and stupid little things Fred said, that she loved most about him. He had always made her laugh. But he had to call her that.
With a pointing finger to his chest, she exhaled angrily "Don't call me woman". A gentle smile appeared on his face as his hands shot up in front of his chest defensively.
"Sorry love"
Watching the obviously familiar and sweet interaction between the pair, the blonde couldn't help but laugh at them. Both Sara and Fred looked at him curiously.
"You were clearly her boyfriend, right?" Fred just his hand over the back of his neck guiltily.
"Anyway" Sara began "You're a squib but also medium? That's kind of odd isn't it?"
"Well, yes. I come from a long family line of wizards and witches" the medium explained "From my father's line, some of them had this gift too" he said referring to the ability he had to see and talk to the dead. "My father didn't, the last one of my heritages who had it was my grandmother, and then when I was born, she said she instantly knew that I had it too" a smile formed on his lips "apparently I played alone all the time, talking to people no one could see, only my grandma"
"Wicked"
"But let's not get out of topic, I'm far more interested in the way you ended up here" he said pointing to Sara "with your dead boyfriend by your side. And the fact that you can also see him, it's not that common either"
"I couldn't, at first" Sara whispered "Fred, um, he died during the war, you know, last year when You know who-"
"Yes, I know all about the war" the man said.
"Well Fred died in the battle of Hogwarts-"
"An explosion, quite tragic really"
"Don't joke about it Fred" Sara warned him, what shut the redhead up. "Anyhow, he died in the battle and just a few weeks ago was the first time that I could see him and talk to him" Javiero nodded understandingly.
"Tell me more" And they did. Sara and Fred explained everything to the medium, how when the last time she visited him in the graveyard where he was buried, he was there with her, but she couldn't see him. And just when she was leaving the place, she noticed him standing by his gravestone, and mistook him for his twin brother.
