lucille granger

It was Christmas Eve, and the six of us had fallen asleep on the couch in Draco's living room. We had a few drinks last night. I was pretty sure it was more than a few, because I couldn't remember how we got on these tiny couches. Let alone, how we managed to fall asleep on them.

I woke up to a loud noise in the kitchen, searching around to realize that everyone else had slept through it like a baby. I didn't want to get up and find out what had created that noise, so I stayed on the couch and looked around, where I saw Pansy sleeping on the couch opposite from us.

Pansy hadn't been too aggravating, surprisingly, although she was never exactly pleasant to have around. We'd be staying until the day after Christmas, so something could alway happen. I could never have my hopes up around her.

My eyes searched throughout the dark room. The ambience the manor created was eerie. Although I was muggle-born, I felt somewhat safe and comfortable there, but the mood that was created was dark and depressing. There were flames roaring in the large fireplace that stood below an empty mahogany mantle. To my surprise, there was a small tree up, but it was weak and distressed, possibly more depressing than the room itself. I assumed that the Christmas tree was solely up because of our visit.

I slightly leaned up and off of Lorenzo's lap where I had been asleep, whose head was arched and leaning against top of the couch. Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I looked behind me and saw Onyx and Blaise passed out on top of each other. I wondered how the fuck the four of us slept on that small couch so soundly.

I slowly stood up, trying not to wake Lorenzo in the process. For all I knew, It was four in the morning and he'd be up soon, because for some reason, to him, four in the fucking morning 'wasn't too early.'

I crept towards the kitchen to grab myself a drink.

It was so dark, I could barely see a thing in front of me. The kitchen had no lights and very a scarce amount of light that sept through the small windows at the very top of the walls.

I walked back towards the lounging room where I had seen a candlestick earlier. I spotted it on a small coffee table and grasped it, walking towards the fireplace. I held it over the deep orange flames for a few moments, before it sparked and began to light itself.

I started to wander towards the kitchen yet again, quietly creeping past everyone who was asleep. When I stepped into the kitchen, I grabbed a glass and rested the candlestick on the countertop so I could fill it. I turned on the faucet lightly so I wouldn't wake anyone and impatiently waited for it to fill.

"Lucille," A voice whispered harshly.

I nearly jumped out of my skin. I was not expecting anyone to be awake, considering I just passed a bunch of snoring teenagers who looked as if they had no intentions of waking up whatsoever.

The person who had said my name picked the candlestick I had rested on the countertop up and held it to their face. It was Narcissa.

"Oh-. I'm so sorry, you frightened me. Hello," I breathed.

"I'm sorry, Lucille. Why are you awake?"

"I was just thirsty. I just needed to get a drink of water. I'll be going in a minute," I told her.

"Oh, okay. Do you mind if I speak to you for just a moment?" She asked.

My heart started to beat rapidly in my chest. I didn't know the reason. "Yes, what's up?"

She rested her hand on the counter and looked back up at me. "Lorenzo mentioned you to me yesterday. He speaks very highly of you."

"Did he?" I questioned, nervously awaiting her response.
