I had let my mother have some time to herself before everyone started to wake up. Now I sat on the bathroom floor, my breath slightly heavy as I pulled away from Fay's lips.

My eyes opened gently to see hers already on set on mine, still tired and weary from being awake no more than ten minutes. She looked so pretty, tired like that.

"You were saying?" She asked, bringing me back to the reason I brought her in here - to talk.

I liked the way she acted like nothing happened after taking my breath away. I liked the way that she really meant it, too. Like she cared, like she wanted to know what I had to say. And she always listened.

Maybe she was a little like Lucille in that way, and that's what kept me stuck on her. Because I know it wasn't her eyes, or her hair. Maybe it was the fact she was a half-blood -- Lord forbid I ever enjoy a kiss with a pureblood woman.

I round up a summary of what I had spoken to my mother about. She understood the entire thing, by now, as through the time she's been in my house I've practically told her everything.

"I'm glad you told your mother so she could knock some sense into you. You were really planning on going, with your mother?"  She talked, making me feel dumb, but at least she cared.

"Not anymore," I explained. "I've got to find someone else to go, I'm just nervous about them getting hurt. That's what I've got to figure out now."

She didn't respond. I didn't mention I was thinking of Cole, considering they'd been friends for a couple years now. I didn't know how she'd respond.

"You should ask Cole," She mentioned, as if she invaded my thoughts and pretended she didn't know. "He's interested in all that stuff, I've heard. You've told him about lots of it, right? I feel like he wouldn't mind."

"You wouldn't mind?" I tried to make sure she was fine with it before agreeing.

She shrugged and nodded her head. "Yeah, considering he's agitating me right now. Oh, I've been meaning to speak to you about something."

I became confused. "What?"

She paused for a moment, her eyes locked away from me. Once she gained composure, they met mine again. "Ivan and Fay are pretty shocked over this whole thing, you know, with how long we've been here. And, fairly, I don't blame them much. They're wanting to go back to the coven for a little bit, or at least up until they figure out what they're gonna do. I don't really want to stay here without my brother, so I'm going to go with them. I might end up coming back, though. Even if they don't. I just don't wanna leave Ivan, really, at least right now. Cole didn't want to go with us, we discussed this all with him last night."

My heart thumped. "I don't think Ivan needs you. Do you really have to go with him?"

"It's not that he needs me," she said. "I just would rather stay with him."

I scanned both her eyes rapidly. "I won't be able to reach you."

She smiled sadly. "You'll be in my thoughts, all the time," She tried to reassure me, biting her lip gently in concern.

"When are you leaving?" I asked.

"This morning," She replied blatantly.

My eyebrows knit together. Why is she just up and leaving all of a sudden? With such short notice?
