I opened my eyes from my wonderful dream and smiled at the ceiling. I went on my phone to look at the time and noticed that my dad had sent me a message. Apparently, there were no classes today. I then went to my past messages.
"It wasn't a dream." I smiled at the texts that Katsuki and I sent back and forth.
'Good morning Katsuki. Do you want to come over to work on our project since we don't have class?'
Instead of waiting for a response, I decided to get dressed. I threw on a pair of jean shorts and a short-sleeved flannel. I decided to tie my hair up in a high ponytail which took a few attempts. I lit a candle while I waited for a text to come back and opened my book to practice some of the equations.
'I can come over in an hour. Make sure to give me the address.'
I quickly sent my address back to Katsuki and started to clean up my room a bit. It was a mess so I moved most things under my bed. I rushed to my phone after I realized my dad didn't know he'd be coming over so I sent him a text.
I was getting really anxious waiting for him to arrive so I decided to get my guitar out and strum it a bit to try and calm myself.
'I'm a minute away.'
I jumped up and moved downstairs and got the guest slippers out for Katsuki to use. I made sure that no pictures of my dad were around the house just to make sure. I finally heard a knock at the door and opened it slowly.
"Good morning Mei." He gave me a soft smile.
"Morning. Come on in." I moved to the side to give him room to come in. "My room is over there." I pointed to the door through the hallway.
I led him to my room and wearily opened my door. No guy had ever been in my room before so it was an odd feeling.
"It's very clean." He pointed out.
"It's not usually this clean." I admitted. I watched as he looked around my room at all my posters and books.
"You really like music don't you?" He pointed out.
"Music is basically the most important thing in my life. It really helps me express myself especially when I was younger since I couldn't back then." I could tell he wanted to ask about my past but he didn't which I was thankful for.
"What's this?" He asked while pointing to my back brace.
"Oh, I wear that during the day when I'm not around people and whenever my back is really bad." I explained.
"Oh. That reminds me, do we need to work on your bed?"
"No, we can work at the table." I gestured to the small table off to the side of the room. "I have a backrest for when I work on the floor."
We got set up with all of our papers and equipment around the table so we could start our work. I brought over the candle I lit earlier so I could smell it better.
"Wow, that is sweet." Katsuki wore an odd face once he smelled the candle.
"Oh sorry, I should have asked. I usually light a candle to stay focused." I explained to him. "I can grab a different one."
I moved to one of my drawers which was filled with candles. I took a few out to find a nice scent that wasn't too strong. I finally decided on one I made earlier that month and brought it to the table. I lit the match quickly so I wouldn't burn myself and set the candle away from the paper.
"I like that scent." He commented as I sat down.
"Thanks. It's one of the ones I made."
"You made that? You have so many hobbies."
"That is true." I rubbed my neck in embarrassment.
"What else do you do?" He quickly asked. I guess we never learned much about what we do in our free time so this was probably a good idea.
"I like to draw, obviously make candles, write stories and music, read, train, watch movies and shows, and listen to music. What about you?"
"I like to train, watch action movies, research ways to get stronger, and see you." He gave me a small smirk at the last of his list.
"Oh well I mean yeah me too." I looked at my hands trying not to smile.
"We should probably talk about what this is." Katsuki looked at me all serious now.
"Well, what do you want us to be?" I was nervous to hear his answer.
"I want you to be my girlfriend. I want to take you on dates and I want to make sure no other guy will try and touch you." He grabbed my hand and stared straight into my eyes as he said that.
"I'd really like that." I smiled widely and went over to him and gave him a tight hug. He was stiff at first but then sank into it and held me tight.
Out of nowhere, there was a crash through the door which made me jump out of Katsuki's arms.
"What was that?" He asked getting ready for a fight.
I went out of my room carefully to see what caused the noise. To my shock, the door was knocked down and a large man was standing there.
"All Might? What are you doing here?" I relaxed as I recognized the figure. Katsuki then exited my room to see what was going on.
"Young Mei! What was young Bakugo doing in your room?" He gave an intimidating glare.
"We're working on a class assignment. What are you doing here?" I was so confused, All Might never came over.
"I needed to pick up some supplies for training and your dad wanted me to check on you two."
"Well that isn't necessary so I can help you find the supplies and then you can go." I was so frustrated that he had someone come over to check on us like we were five.
I quickly found everything All Might needed and hurried him out of the house.
"I'm sorry about that." I sighed at Katsuki.
"Your dad just wants you to be safe. It seems we have the same goal." He smiled slightly as he went back into my room. I followed him and sat down in my spot.
We spent a few hours finishing the rest of the assignment without many breaks so we could just hang out for a bit and relax.
"I noticed you have a music book, do you mind if I look at it?" He said moving to my book that I write my music in.
"I guess if you want to. It isn't anything good. It's just some lyrics I have written." I told him.
I watched as he read through my songs and watched each change in facial expressions. I was scared to hear his reaction to them since I never had anyone read them before.
"Can you sing any of these?"
"I've practiced a few of them but I'm still working on them." I was still scared that he hated the songs.
"Can I hear you sing this one?" He pointed to my newest song.
" I can try." I said hesitantly.
I got up to grab my guitar and open up to the pages for the song.
"Get a load of this monster, he doesn't know how to communicate, his mind is in a different place. Will everybody please give him a little bit of space?" I finished and heard Katsuki give a little applause.
"You have such a nice voice." He complimented. "But your songs are so sad." He pointed out with a frown.
"Well, I've never been properly happy until I came to this school and met you." His face softened, even more, and brought me into another hug.
He held me until he needed to go home. I didn't want him to leave, he made me feel safe and I missed that feeling. Although I was sad I helped him pack his things and watched as he left to go home.
