Mine (Bakugo x Reader)

Chapter 14

Weeks of training had passed and it was finally time for the sports festival. Katsuki and I had worked on training every day and had improved a bit. While we were training we stayed focused on that since this was a huge chance to work under a top hero. We both agreed that we wouldn't help each other and would treat the other as an enemy. We both wanted to win so we needed to make some rules. 

I got to the stadium and went straight to the girl's locker room to meet up with Momo and Jirou. Before we really talked we got dressed since we didn't know when we would be starting. 

"Good luck guys!" I said to everyone.

"I will beat you Mei." Jirou competitively smiled.

"You can try but that won't happen." I shot back. 

"Everyone get ready! We are going out!" We all heard Iida yell. 

We all lined up and met up with the boys as we walked to the entrance of the stadium.

"Class 1-A!" I heard Present Mic yell.

We then walked out and I was shocked by all the people there that were cheering for us. All the other classes came out and I noticed the purple-haired guy that was arguing with Katsuki. I was looking at everyone, not even realizing what was happening until I heard Katsuki's voice.

"All I have to say is that I am going to win." He glared at everyone as he walked off the stage to the crowd of angry students. 

"Was that really necessary?" I questioned as he passed by me but he just gave me a slight nod. 

We waited for the first part of the festival. It was announced that it was an obstacle race.

"Great running." I sighed, exhausted just thinking about it. 

We all lined up for the start of the race. I was starting to breathe a bit heavily, I was panicking with the thought that I might get eliminated first. I suddenly felt a tight squeeze on my hand and looked up to see Katsuki giving me an encouraging smile. I gave him a nod letting him know that I was okay. 

The horn sounded to give us our start and every student started running. The pathway was very tight so everyone was clumped together. Shoto used his ice to get out quickly before anyone else.

I followed in his example and used a boost of air to shoot off ahead of everyone else. I quickly ran into some of the bots from the entrance exam so I stopped to think of the best way around them. Before I could do anything Shoto froze them all and the bots started to fall. 

"Really Shoto?" I shouted as I maneuvered past the collapsing pieces of metal. 

"You've got to be quicker to win Mei!" He yelled back at me. 

I started to get a bit tired from using my quirk and running so I started to slow down a bit. Unfortunately, that let Katsuki get ahead of me as we got to the wires over the canyon. I quickly jumped from one landing place to another to try and catch up to the boys.

After a bit more running we came across a minefield. I was always sensitive to loud or sudden noises so I slowed down and carefully went through avoiding all the mines. Whenever one went off I jumped but continued to move forward. 

A huge explosion went off and I saw Midoriya flying above me. 

"Shit!" I cursed as I started to increase my speed. 

I was just barely behind Katsuki once we crossed the finish line so I placed fourth. I could see the anger in his eyes since Midoriya ended up in first. 

"Katsuki it's not over yet. You can still win." I tried to calm him which worked a bit but I could still see the frustration in his eyes. 

I waited a bit until Momo and Jirou came through before I joined the others who passed. 

"Good job guys!" I congratulated them as soon as they came through.

"How'd you get through so quickly Mei?" Momo panted.

"I'm a bit too competitive for my own good." I shyly admitted.

"I would not see you as someone like that." Jirou commented. 

We went over to the other side of the stadium to see everyone else who passed. Most of class 1-A passed which made me relieved since we really needed to show off our worth. 

Once everyone came across the finish line we were given the second activity, a cavalry battle.

"Katsuki let's team-up." I suggested as I went over to him.

"Now why should I let you join my team." He gave me a playful smirk that only I could notice.

"Well, we've been training together for weeks now." I pointed out. "And maybe I could reward you." I whispered in his ear. As I backed away I noticed a small blush on his face and I let out a small laugh.

"Definitely Mei on my team." He announced to everyone who was trying to join Katsuki.

In the end, we also got Kirishima and Sero. I was under Bakugo since I was used to his explosions and would be able to boost ur speed. Sero and Kiri were on the sides for Katsuki's protection. Although we were doing well and getting the team's headbands I was a bit distracted by where I was. Katsuki was on top of my back and I could feel part of his body touching me. Let's just say my face was very red. 

As we continued around we finally got to go for Midoriya but before we reached him a team grabbed our headband. 

"You know you should really live up to your speech if you're gonna say something like that." The blonde dude laughed. 

"What did you say?" Katsuki hollered. 

"Bakugo calm down." Kirishima tried to calm the angry beast on top of me.

"Mei, before we go after Deku we are getting this extra!" I followed my orders and sped to the team dodging their few attacks before we grabbed two of their headbands.

"Alright, Katsuki, we're back in the running. Now we can go for Midoriya."

We started to go for Midoriya who was trying to get his headband back from Shoto's team. Katsuki jumped off us in the last few seconds but before he could grab Midoriya time ran out and he just fell. I laughed a bit at his landing but then hurried to his side to make sure he was alright.

We made it through the second game so next, we had the one on one battles after the lunch break. I gave Katsuki a pat on the back and then ran over to Momo and Jirou to try and make Jirou feel better since she was eliminated.
