I looked at Katsuki, genuinely surprised that we would be fighting right off the bat. It then hit me that whoever lost wouldn't be able to continue. I knew Katsuki would be the one to win but I still couldn't give up so easily.
"Mei, are you going to be alright going against Bakugo?" Momo asked with a hint of concern in her voice.
"I'll be fine. I've been training with him for a while so I know his tactics." I reassured the girls who were concerned for me.
To give time for the battles to get ready the guys all played the games while we girls had to cheer in the awful outfits. I was soon able to leave to prepare for my fight. I wanted to find Katsuki first so I searched everywhere for him. I finally found him in one of the entrance tunnels facing the wall.
"Katsuki. Are you alright?" I questioned as I placed my hand on his shoulder which he quickly shoved off. "What was that for?"
"Why do I have to fight you? I don't want to hurt you but I need to win." He punched the wall in frustration.
"Hey, we agreed that we would be fine if we ended up going against each other. Just think of it as training. It will make me better and you will go and keep winning." I tried to comfort him.
"Why are you acting as if you've already lost? You are so strong. It will be a fair fight."
"Katsuki, you want to win more than me and we all know that you are stronger. Even though I know your habits you also know mine and my weaknesses."
"Can you just do me one favor?"
"Of course Katsuki."
"Make sure that I don't hit your back. I don't want to hurt you and I've been holding back in training to make sure I don't hit it. Please make sure I don't hurt you." I could see his eyes starting to water as he was getting more and more emotional.
"Hey, baby. Look at me." I took his face to look at mine. "You won't hurt me. I've gotten this far without getting hurt so trust me that I can protect myself."
"Thank you." He pulled me into a quick hug.
"I'm going to go find a quiet place to prepare. I'll see you in a bit." I smiled and walked away from him.
I went outside to lay down and relax for a few minutes before I would go into the stands to watch Midoriya's fight. I watched the clouds pass as my breathing slowed to a calmer speed. I was nervous about what would come but I knew I needed to stay calm.
I got up and walked to where everyone was sitting in the stands and sat next to the seat on the end which just happened to be next to Katsuki. He gave me a weary smile as I sat down.
Through Midoriya's fight, all I did was try and stop myself from looking at Katsuki or holding his hand. He noticed that I was starting to get visibly nervous so he crossed his legs to cover him holding my hands from the rest of the class. I was thankful that he did that because I really need his touch or I would have started to have a panic attack.
"Thank you." I whispered in his ear which he just subtly nodded to.
We sat like that for a while until Midoriya won and Shoto and Sero had to leave. Katsuki quickly moved his hands away from me so no one would be able to notice.
Let's just say that once Shoto attacked that Sero was as good as dead. He was almost completely frozen.
"Damn Shoto." I said.
"I could do better." He growled with jealousy.
"I know you can." I laughed.
Iida, Mina, and Denki's fights went by quickly but the closer my fight came the more nervous I was.
