Chapter 5

I sighed softly as I walked into work going to my computer I sat down putting Starfire's lunch in my mini fridge. I brought one because if I didn't trust people in this office mainly Garfield would steal my food because, sometimes I would forget to eat lunch while I overworked. We had the meeting soon everyone agreed on what we had talked about they thought it would be a great idea to get new computers since ours was old, I have no idea why it took this long to get them but we are getting them next week. I guess Bruce had to get persuaded to get the computers we needed don't get me wrong he was a good boss but he didn't get anything new for the office unless he absolutely had to, I'm glad he had gotten these they are way faster than the computers we had before. I worked until it was time for my lunch I opened seeing a ham and cheese sandwich, BBQ potato chips, a fruit cup and a slice of banana bread with green tea I started eating as Garfield comes up to with a smile on his face "Guess who's got a date Friday?!" . Garfield smiles pointing to himself with his index thumbs looking as happy as ever I started chuckling softly looking at him," I'm guessing it's you?" I said to him basically asking him Garfield nods his head smiling at me "Yeah she's finally giving me a chance I'm planning everything out I'll take her to the bookstore then we'll go see a horror movie, after that I'm taking her for pizza then lastly I'll take her for ice cream and that'll end with a kiss on the cheek". He smiles happily looking at me before looking at me "So do you have a special someone in your life?" That question makes me suddenly blush Garfield smirks a bit chuckling softly nudging my arm "I'm guessing by your sudden reaction someone has caught your eye huh?" I look at him before thinking about StarFire even though we hadn't known each other for that long, She somehow made her way into my heart but am I really ready to put myself out there again? After the heartbreak with Barbara? I know Starfire isn't like Barbara though because she's different from any woman that I have ever known I'm gonna ask her out on that date with Garfield and Raven I just hope she says yes.
