Chapter 16

I woke up to Starfire calling my name as I slowly opened my eyes, I blinked realizing I slept on the cold, hard roof I sat up groaning as I rub my back. "Note to self no more, sleeping on the roof after having a emotional moment". I groaned softly as Starfire helps me up, I looked around the sky realizing it's still night time. I looked over at Starfire opening my mouth to speak. "What time is Starfire?". I asked her as she looks at her watch. "The time is 6:30 am I was coming to check, on you but you were not in your room Dick. I looked every in the house for you and I got really scared, so I texted Raven who said it might have had something to do with Barbara. Is it true for you not being in the house?". Starfire asks me her voice full of worry for me, I feel my stomach move badly in my stomach. Sighing softly as I nod my head looking down at my feet. "She's getting married to Bruce, she told me at the party I realized I had to let her go. So I came up here to burn the pictures and when I did, I must have fell asleep without knowing. I'm sorry Star I needed to do this for myself, it was something I had to do for myself". Starfire places a hand on my shoulder squeezing it lately looking at me, with a soft gentle look on her face. "I understand Dick, but please never do that to me again. I thought something had happened to you, I cannot lose you you are my best friend I will be right next to you whenever you need me. You can always express to me how you feel about anyone or anything". Starfire tells me gently. "Let's go to bed it is still early we have a busy day with our friends". Star leads me back inside of our home. "Thanks Star sorry I've been all over the place, thanks for being a good friend and listening to me". I give her a small smile as we walked back inside of the house. I groaned softly rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah sounds good to me, I am never doing that again. I really messed up my neck lying on the roof". Starfire then looks at me. "Oh! I know how I can fix that problem! I'll give you a massage!". Star tells me smiling at me taking into her room, my eyes widen as I start to shake my head  as she pulls me into her room. "No Star you don't have to do that! It'll get better soon! I just need sleep!". I tell her as I freak out I didn't want this to happen, this is so embarrassing I should have left those stupid pictures alone, I sighed softly looking at her. "I have something that will help with the pain honestly don't trouble yourself with his please!". I tell her as we both in her room, she digs her a bag on her bed. "Don't be silly Dick, it's no problem at all. Come on take off your shirt, lay on the bed and get comfortable. Think of it like the massages you got at the spa yesterday". Starfire tells me as she grabs the lotion from a bag, she then looks at me before I sighed in defeat and take off my shirt. I lay down on my stomach as I hear Starfire approach the bed, I am glad she can't see the blush that was spread against my cheeks. "Let me know how I do okay? It will be my first time ever, giving someone a massage and I want it to be good for you". Starfire tells me. I smile softly nods my head. "Sure I will do that, but like I told you Star I'm fine I don't need a massage". I tell her as she comes by my side, she places some lotion on her hand. It smells like cherry pie I definitely will be smelling like pie, but the smell oddly calms me down. I know she has it because I can smell it, I also remember she picked it up one day when we went shopping together. She thought it was something to eat at first, until I told her it was lotion and explained to her how lotion can come in different smells. Starfire understood it wasn't meant for eating after that, I sighed softly as I close my eyes. I feel her soft, warm fingers against my neck massaging it. I sighed softly enjoying the massage Starfire is giving me, I forget that I am shirtless on her bed. I enjoy the way her hands are on me, before I could stop myself a groan escapes my lips. My eyes snapped opened as I blush in embarrassment, I looked over at Starfire who has a blush similar to mine on her face, I quickly get off the bed grabbing my shirt as I race out of her door. "Thanks for the massage! See you!". I scream out as I ran into my room and slam the door shut, my head against the door as I once against the wall I groaned softly grabbing my phone from the nightstand, I pulled up victors number and called him. After a couple of rings he finally answers the phone, his voice is deep from sleep I had woken him up and I know how much he loves his sleep. So it catches me off guard a bit when it talks through the phone. "Dick man this better be good, I was dreaming about my ribs and they were perfect". Victor tells me before I sighed softly running a hand through my hair. "Oh believe me buddy there is a lot going on in my life. Prepare yourself you won't believe what is happening to me". I tell Victor what happened with me and Barbara on the roof, how I finally burned the pictures of us, how I got a massage from Starfire after she found me on the roof and how I ran out of her room, after I groaned while getting massage. I sighed softly as I finished ranting to him. "I am so happy you decided to burn those pictures dude, I'm telling Rae, and Garfield we wanted to give you some time to do it yourself, I know that was hard for you dude, I know how much you loved her. Maybe now you can finally move on now, to a certain miss alien". I knew he was talking about Star I liked her I really did but I was afraid to do it. Yes I finally moved on from Barbara, but was she the one for me? I think about all the moments we have shared together and I really like Starfire but I wanna make sure about my feelings for her before I do something to ruin our friendship at least wait a bit longer. Especially after what just happened. "I'll see you for the party we are going to start at around 5, I think star wants to have a sleepover too so bring your PJs". I tell Victor as a yawn escapes me. "Alright then dude I'll be there, sleep well dude". Victor texts me before I tell him goodnight back then I placed my phone down on the nightstand sighing softly looking up at the ceiling. I've really got a lot to think about especially because I don't want Starfire to just be a rebound to me. I finally close my eyes and fall asleep.

                     Time skip to the party

I smiled softly watching everyone have fun Garfield brought his gaming console and the brand new video games from his job, they always get an copy before the game is released out to the public. So we've been playing it for awhile it's a new adventure RPG game, it was actually pretty fun. Victor and I planned on getting the game, Bee came to the party too, but said she was gonna have to miss the sleepover. She hated she has to miss it but I'm glad she was able to come to the party, she made apple, blackberry and a peach pie for today. She made sure to make enough for everyone we've got lots of food for everyone to eat and enjoy. "It's so awesome! Getting fired was one of the best things that's ever happened to me. The people there are so nice there and every Friday we get to go home early, but honestly who would wanna go to home early? It's the best place ever!". Garfield smiles happily as everyone looks at him. "That sounds amazing dude, I'm glad you're working at a better place. I remember how hard working there was for you". Victor told Garfield smiling at him gently. Garfield smiles nodding his head looking at Raven and me. "ah sorry guys I shouldn't have said anything bad about your work place". Garfield rubs the back of his head while Raven and I just shrug it off. "I've actually been thinking about quitting, and working at library honestly. The pay is great don't get me wrong, Bruce has never done anything to make me feel uncomfortable. He's a great, amazing, sweet, caring boss. But I think it's time I changed it but that would mean Dick would be alone for lunch". Raven says in a soft voice looking at me, I shook my head gently. "You should go for it Rae. You shouldn't have to stay because of me,one day I'll quit and do my own thing, but for now I'll stay in the company and work a little more". I tell her softly looking at Raven before she hugs me tightly. "Thanks Dick now, how about we enjoy this party?". She asks everyone while smirking. We all laughed then agreed to enjoy the party, we ate so much food everything was delicious. We watched movies, played video games and ate so much more. Then we moved onto the drinks we choice a fruity drink for everyone to have it was pretty good, not too strong of a taste to it. We had a great time with everyone. It was a great fun time we had, I was sad Raven was gonna be leaving but a new start for her was just what she needed. I'm sure she wants to be able to spend more time with Garfield anyways, their dating now and barely are able to spend as much time together anyways. "Friends I just wanted to say that, this is very fun! And I hope we get to do this again!". Starfire tells everyone smiling at them, who returns a smile back. "Oh girl I know! I love my family and everything but it's nice, to spend time with you guys as well. You guys are my family away from my family". Bee grins softly as she raises her glass. "I have to admit this has been really fun, lots of great food and drinks but don't tell anyone about the soft girl act. I got going on can't let anyone know I was being soft on you all". Raven says as we all busts out laughing hugging Raven as pretending to hate it. Then we separate and Garfield takes his turn to speak. "I love that we are all here together! Let's all have a good time and tell some spooky stories afterwards!". He grins widely looking at our faces as we nodded in agreement. Victor then raises his glass to speak. "The food and everything has been wonderful! I even enjoyed the food Raven and Garfield made!". We all shared a laugh after that. "No but seriously, we need to do this again soon!". Victor smiles fondly at us making us smile at him.  I raised my glass in the air smiling at everyone. "Thank you all for coming! I needed this, I am one lucky man to have friends like you! I needed this tonight so thank you so much!". I smiled as everyone cheered and drank their alcohol drinks. We ate, joked, laughed and played more video games then everyone crashed for the night, well everyone except Starfire and me we were sitting outside next to each other, enjoying each other's company. The night sky air was blowing softly against our faces and hair, "Tonight has been wonderful, thank you so much for having this party Dick. On my planet we do not celebrate much". I smiled at her gently shaking my head. "It's no problem Star I'm glad you liked it, we'll do it again once everyone has a clear schedule". I tell her softly smiling at her, she smiles back at me looking up at the moon together. This was the perfect end to the perfect day.
