Chapter 9

Starfire and I started with our lesson, this would help her to go around and stay safe in case she ever wanted to go somewhere along without me. Raven and Garfield helped too we started hanging out with them too it was mostly hanging out at my place, or having a bite to eat Victor would join us as well but he would tease me more about my relationship with Starfire. I told him that I wasn't quite ready for a relationship, even though my break up with Barbara was months ago. I still couldn't move on I feel like I need closure from her, ask her why she did it. Why she decided to cheat on me with the man who was like a father to me, and my most respect friend. I needed closure from both of them in order to heal from the pain catching the both of them was painful I had came home from work early, Bruce told us he had to go somewhere but he didn't come back, so when everyone finished early that day I decided that day would be the day. I picked up her favorite flowers, picked up her favorite dessert and food from her favorite places. I had everything ready to ask her to be my wife I had the ring safely placed, in the box of my car I got the ring and slipped it into my pocket. I had walked into the house hearing moans and grunts as my heart beated hard in my chest as I prayed that, it wasn't truth I was just hearing the TV but when I walked over to my bedroom door and kicked it opened my eyes widen as I saw them both. In an passionate embraced their shocked expressions as they realized I was there, quickly they got out of the bed scrambling to get their clothes on, Barbara came to me clingy to me. Telling me it was a mistake that it didn't mean anything to either of them but I already knew it wasn't, a mistake this wasn't a mistake this was distrust, this had broken a relationship built on trust and lies I kicked them both out, after the first few months Barbara tired to talk to me, she would call and text me constantly. Bruce would try to talk to me as well, he would invite me out to lunch but I would refuse telling him I had plans for lunch. Or would leave as soon as work was on I'd come home make dinner, have a beer or two then go to bed it was like that for awhile until the night I had met Starfire the girl with the orange skin, red long hair, pointy ears, and bright green eyes. Had become a friend to me and I was going to everything I had in me to make sure she was safe while I was working she understood how to get from places like to the store or to the library, Raven and Victor taught her out to fight but told her to only do it if someone was starting to get aggressive and wouldn't take no for a answer, Starfire was a quick learner and got it right away. She understood what was taught to her I was happy that she would be protected with or without me by her side, it made me feel better that I had nothing to worry about with her Starfire has became a special person to me. I'm not sure how Starfire feels about me but if anything I'm sure she thinks of me as a friend too, I made dinner for us tonight I decided to make curry chicken and rice for today's dinner while Starfire set the table for us I placed the food on the plates and carried them to the table. Then I pulled out StarFire's chair for her, she gives me a grin sitting down on the chair then I took my seat across from her. We both started eating enjoying our meal, "This meal is once again delicious I'll cook tomorrow, maybe even have dessert with it as. Maybe I'll make some apple pie we can have, ice cream for us to enjoy together". Starfire tells me grinning softly as we eat. "Of course you can Starfire thank you very much for the help, are you gonna be doing anything tomorrow after I leave for work?". Starfire looks at me as she, wipes her mouth using her napkin then straightens up in her chair. "I was thinking of going to the park for a bit. Packing me a snack to eat then relaxing, enjoying the nice beautiful weather". I smile at her softly listening to her talk. "Maybe stop by the garden and look at the flowers, we should have a picnic Dick, maybe see if the others will want to join. We can have sandwiches, pasta salad, and some fruit". Starfire tells me as she sipped her water. I nodded his head listening to Starfire taking about our plans. "Sure I'll ask Garfield and Raven if they want to, come to the picnic since it's tomorrow is Wednesday I'll ask them. They should be able to join us I'll ask Victor and Bee if they also want to, join us too it'll be fun to have everyone together". I told Starfire as she nods her head smiling at me, I found myself smiling back at her as, we finish up our meal we washed and dried the dishes together. It was a nice and inmate moment between us, we would wash and dry dishes after one of us would cook. Barbara however was the worst cook and she never cleaned after dinner I still wonder what I saw in her, she wasn't the one for me I should have seen that but I was too in love with her to realize what type of person she was. We finished cleaning then got ready for bed, well not ready for bed since it was still early more like getting comfortable to watch a movie we had our drinks and got settled in. "This was a great idea after dinner to watch this Dick". Starfire tells me as, we watch the movie it was the new hunger games movie. I nodded my head smiling a little. "Of course no problem, I've been wanting to see this movie anyways so I'm excited to watch it". After that we started watching the movie, at one point during the movie Starfire snuggled against my side, I blushed lightly paying attention to the movie it was a good idea that we decided to watch this movie in the dark. My heart was beating too fast and my face was slightly red, it has been awhile since I've felt this way about someone but I'm not sure how this will work she's a alien and I am a human, she might also live longer than me, Starfire is beautiful she's different from the other girls like literally different she has powers that make her eyes and hands glow to blast her enemies with but. I told her that it could probably hurt them so she got taught how to fight, she's incredibly strong she even beat Raven, Victor, and Bee in a little match we decided to have. Starfire beat everyone within ten minutes of the matches, it was nice to do with everyone I have gotten a bit closer to them since Starfire arrived when Barbara and I were together she wasn't too fond of them, she wanted me to hang out with her boring friends and go to fancy parties eating food that was too small, and this feeling hungry afterwards, but it wasn't all bad with her with did have some good memories together it sometimes we would go on picnics sometimes, luckily she did like doing normal stuff every once in a while. I sighed softly as I wrapped my arms around Starfire's waist, she snuggled more against me it felt warm. To be like this with someone again even if we are just friends that's all we will, ever be because I cannot allow myself to fall in love with someone else not ever again. We still were in each other's arms as the movie ended we stayed like that for awhile until we both looked at each other, staring into each other's eyes I stared down at her lips then back into her eyes I could feel her breathe against my lips before I realized what was happening I quickly stood up, blushing madly my cheeks deep red as I looked away from her. "Well it's time for bed I've got to get up in, the morning for work don't worry about breakfast I'll cook. Goodnight Starfire I'll see you in the morning". She blushed a bit nodding her head as she stood up from the couch, looking at me before she spoke. "Goodnight Dick I'll see you in the morning". And with that awkward exchange we went to our separate rooms, man if I wasn't in trouble now I was definitely going to be later. Because I was staring to fall in love with my best friend, and I don't know if I could stop myself from doing it.
