Chapter 18

Starfire and I ate cereal for breakfast just how she wanted, it was nice to just have a nice simple breakfast together. We sat in silent as we ate, it wasn't uncomfortable or anything we just enjoyed each other's company and didn't feel the need to talk, I finished my frosted flakes then drank my apple juice I had with it. "I'll see you after work Starfire I shouldn't be too long, so I'll make us dinner tonight. I'll make us that chicken salad you love so much". I told her washing my dishes then put them away, I grabbed my bag gave Starfire a hug then left for work.

Starfire's POV

Dick had left for work shortly after breakfast so I started working around the house, I know he tells me to relax while he's away at work but it doesn't feel right not to do anything while he is gone. I washed my dishes from breakfast placing them away, then I mopped the floor, did the laundry and made my bed. I made sure the bathroom was clean, I made some lemonade and tea for us to enjoy later. Last night was fun with the others, I chatted a bit on the cell phone Dick had given me with the others but they were sort of busy with work since their little vacation time had ended. Which was understandable I watched my dramas and read my book until I suddenly heard a beeping sound it was my gadget from my home planet, my eyes widen as I grabbed it and looked at it for months no one has reached out to me because they all believed in what my sister, she had accounted me of stealing our family's gem and had convinced them that I was the thief, I tried to prove my Innocents but they choice her word over mine. So I ran from home and that's the night Dick found me and I kissed him to learn his language, I sighed softly pressing the button to my device as it showed my friend and mentor. Galfore the only one that believed me when I said I did not steal the gem, he is the one who helped me escaped. He smiles at me softly looking into my eyes with love, care, and protection in them. "Starfire I have wonderful news they have found the real thief turns out. Blackstar was working with them the whole time to frame you. It took awhile but, they realized they made a mistake in accusing you of such a crime". My eyes widen as I heard this I knew Blackstar was behind this, she has always hated me for no reason at all. I was happy that my name was cleared but that meant, leaving everyone and mostly it meant leaving Dick the one person who had stuck by me, who knew I was a alien and did not run away from me. I stared at Galfore for awhile before I spoke. "When do I come back home?". I asked Galfore softly my hands by my side. "You come back Saturday dear, come back Saturday night and we will welcome you home with open arms. You will be our queen once you get back home, I'll see you soon dear take care until then". Galfore disappears and I finally what I've been holding back since our conversation, tears roll down my cheek as I realized I am leaving the man I love, I didn't get to tell him that I had fallen for him and now I never will. I sob into my hands sitting on the couch until I cannot sob anymore, I pull out my phone and quickly message the group telling everyone to join us for dinner. After work tonight I'm going to prepare a special pasta dinner they all responded that they would come after work. Dick was the only one who did not answer, I think he told me they had a meeting so it was better not to have a message from him. He leaves his phone on silent when he works anyways, I sighed softly and get ready to prepare the ingredients for tonight's dinner.

Dick's POV

I sighed softly as I was having lunch with Raven and Garfield we went out to eat at a place close to our job, it was very good, we had been in a meeting this morning and it took a bit. Today was Raven's last day working here so the three of us had lunch together, we got tacos for lunch I had 3 chicken tacos, Garfield had some veggie tacos, and Raven had gotten a taco salad. I checked my phone and saw that everyone had agreed to come over to our place, for dinner tonight. Apparently she has something to tell everyone but I don't know what it is, I won't lie and say I know it's probably gonna be something bad it's been a couple of months since Starfire had started living with me. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with her home planet, whatever is going on I'll have to be ready for it. I'll have to be. Raven and Garfield looks at me, as I look at them with a confusing looking on my face. "What?". I asked as they stared, Garfield is the first to speak. "You've been holding your taco for the longest time, dude you were staring into space". He told me finishing his food. Raven nods her head agreeing with Garfield. "You've been like that for six minutes, is this about what Starfire wants to talk about tonight?". I sighed softly nodding my head looking at the both of them. "Yeah it is, I'm really scared she's only been here for a few months. But we got closer as time went by you know?". I told them looking at my half eaten tacos. I placed my food down and stood up. "We should start heading back, anyways it's almost time for our break to be over anyways". Raven kisses Garfield's cheek before she leaves with me patting my back. "Looks like it's ice cream and sitcoms for us again". She tells me as we walked to the office together. "Actually think I'm gonna need something stronger, than ice cream this time Rae". I mumbled under my breathe as we walked back into the office, going to our seats and started working again. Well Raven was doing her work, I was drifting off with a billion things on my mind. Thinking of what could be going on with Starfire, I sighed softly doing a bit of work, tonight was going to be a long night.
