Ah, the good old writer's block we all have faced, once in our lives. But don't worry! I'm here to help all of
you.First thing, what is writer's block?
The condition of being unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing.
Sometimes, you have all the ideas in your head, but can't write it or sometimes you're just clueless.
Now, how do we beat it?
1) NEVER WRITE WHEN YOU ARE NOT FEELING LIKE IT! Give your work a hundred per cent or nothing at all.
2) Try scrolling through Pinterest and making aesthetics for your character! Find pictures, quotes, etc. which are related to your character, and I assure you it will be a fantastic start and will give you many ideas!
3) Try writing down just the dialogues on paper.
E.g., David: I want ice cream
Ria: Me too, Mom
Mom: fine, but only one scoop!
Ria: Yay! Thank you!
David: We love you so much!
Mom: Of course, you do
This will create a mental image, how you want the chapter to go! You don't have to stick with it, but it gives a gist about the chapter.
4) Consequences. Think about your character's actions in the previous chapters, and think about their consequence. Never leave anything hanging! Well, expect endings...
5) Try switching your character P.O.V or try to think about the story from another character's view.
E.g., Romero starts coming home late, and in his Mom's, she's worried about him. Write a scene about the Mom confronting Romero!
6) Read a book! Different types of books and get inspiration. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COPYING AND GETTING INSPIRED!
7) Take a break. Be gentle with yourself.
