When people think about feminism they usually imagine 'angry man-haters', but that's not what feminism means

When people think about feminism they usually imagine 'angry man-haters', but that's not what feminism means.

Feminism is about social, political, economic rights given to all genders equally.

Equality is all we want.

We want equal pay. We want to walk down the streets without fear during nighttime, to wear clothes we want and not be afraid of what people will think.

"Never shouted to be heard.

You ain't lived in a woman's world."

-Little Mix, Women's World

As an Indian girl, I have faced inequality in the smallest ways. I have been to told to work in the kitchen along with my sisters, but no one told my brother to help us.

Why? Simple. I am a girl and 'I belong in the kitchen'.

Now, there is nothing wrong in being a housewife if the wife is willing to be one, but even they face discrimination.

A working woman is naive, hopeless, unruly, and whatnot.

A housewife is 'just a housewife'.

When will people understand that we haven't achieved feminism?

When will people understand that women are not toys to play with?

We have actual emotions, feelings, thoughts and ideas, and we are not to be treated like puppets.

Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they've got ambition, and they've got talent, as well as just beauty. I'm so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for.

-Jo March, Little Women

We can be whoever, we want to be if, that doesn't hurt another person or invalidate their feelings.

I can be girly if I want to be.

I can be a tomboy if I want to be.

I can be a businesswoman or a housewife because it's my choice.

Give us the freedom we have been striving for more than a thousand years, stand with us and fight with us.

Feminism is about equality between all genders.

I don't need to cross everything off the list to be beautiful.

I don't need to be tall but not too tall to bruise a male ego.

I don't need to be fair.

I don't need to be skinny.

I need to be myself to be beautiful and if that's not enough for you then maybe you should grow a brain.
