______FLASHBACK_________

Sitting down at a restaurant enjoying a nice burger with fries was Josie favorite thing to do after her soccer matches. This time it was no different, when a few of her friends invited her, the captain of the team to join them for a victory lunch at their favorite burger joint. Laughing, and talking about how Josie almost got into a fight during the game when one of the girls from the other team had elbowed her from behind knocking her down. It was the highlight of their game and everyone couldn't stop talking about.

It wasn't until a few team members saw Hope entering the place when the conversation died down. Everyone was looking at her, making snarky comments on the lonely freak that was Hope Mikaelson. Josie raised a brow at her friends as they began to poke fun at the girl. Josie looked back up to see Hope adjusting her bag on her shoulder reaching into her pocket to pay for her meal.

"I can't believe she's here. What a loser" one of the girls scoffed taking a bite of her burger.

"I heard a rumor that Mikaelson sneaks out late at night to go to some club. A few boys from the school saw her talking to some older guys" another one leaned in whispering.

"Oh my god, I knew Hope Mikaelson was a—"

"Finish that sentence and I'll teach you the definition of pain" Josie sternly spoke tapping her finger onto the table. The group of friend looked at Josie confused, wondering why she was defending that freak.

"Josie what's gotten into you. This is Mikaelson we're talking about." The girl with Light Brown hair rolled her eyes.

"You know Josie ever since the start of 7th grade you've been spending an awful lot of time with Mikaelson." The blond whispered. "She has a reputation"

"And what if we do. Whatever happens it's between Hope and I. If it's a problem then we both figure it out. It our friendship." Josie said nonchalantly, as she took a bite out of her burger.

"But it's Mikaelson, You know the freak of school. She's nothing but a violent psycho, who apparently is probably selling herself to get some money cause everyone knows—"

Josie cut the girl off, but this time it was by punching the girl in the face across the table. Once the girl was on the ground Josie got on top of her punching her a few more times. A few friends pulled her off holding her back. Everyone was now looking at her like she'd gone crazy, as the other girl covered her now bloody nose. "I warned you about talking shit about Hope. Next time it will be a lot worse" Josie left the table she was sitting at and walked towards Hope who was in shock at what she just saw.

"What the hell is the matter with you. Are you crazy..." the blond shouted in anger. Josie didn't say anything. She grabbed Hopes to go order and grabbed her hand leading her towards the door. "If you walk out of that door, then... you aren't our friend anymore" she added. Josie stopped for a minutes looking at Hope who was still confused. Josie turned around looking back at the table where her former friends now sat.

She smiled and flipped them off "oh and I quit the team" Josie harshly pushing the doors open and walking out.

Hope looked at Josie who was still holding her hand as they walked home. "Josie, about what happened back there" Hope stopped walking causing Josie to stop as well.

"Don't... it's not your fault. I want you to listen to me very closely. I will choose you over anyone,"

"B-but soccer, the team" Hope dropped her head slightly unsure of what to say.

"Hey look at me" Josie placed her finger that was hooked slightly under hopes chin raising her head up. "You know you're the only person I'm honest with. I'd never lie to you and you know that. So trust me when I say I'd choose you. I'll make new friends, join a new club, but I don't mind if I have you as my only friend for the rest of my life." Josie laughed pulling Hope into a hug. She held on tightly smiling away, happy.
