Everyone had returned back to Karasuno. From the corner of her eyes, Y/N noticed Kageyama and Hinata going towards the gym.
Y/N was annoyed at Kageyama. Call it childishness or immaturity but his words brought up unwanted memories and annoyed her. Kageyama wasn't willing to take the leap or the risk to evolve and that infuriated her. The Kageyama she had come to know, was better than this coward who wanted to stay as a goody two shoes.
She didn't want to bother with the two boys because she was simply to upset at the blueberry. Y/N knew how it felt to be in Hinata's place. To be criticised like that. To be said that she was nothing without her spikes. Y/N had no one to tell her that she was better or enough, but she wouldn't let anyone treat Hinata as if he were inferior. He didn't deserve that.
While Kageyama may have had his hardships, he was still calculative and adapted. He wasn't called a prodigy for no reason. He was sharp when it came to volleyball. He was good at analysing but impulsive at times. But atleast, his will to fight on the court wasn't looked down upon. It may sound harsh, but if it weren't for his dictator like personality in middle school then he may have gone further than Oikawa.
However, Hinata.
Y/N leaned against the wall as her bag lay beside her. Her earbuds were in her ears as she listened to music and formed the different plans and schemes and counter attacks from all the teams she had monitored over the past days.
Hinata Shoyo.
The boy who had his first and only match in the end of his middle school. His dreams to be on the court were commendable. However, due to his height.... due to his height, Hinata was judged. He may as well have been on the bench if he didn't have his speed and jump power to offer. But the fire within Hinata burned more than anyone else. It burned more than Kageyama. Because Hinata knew what it felt like to feel defeat. A crushing defeat. Dreams stepped on. He was someone whom everyone underestimated because of which he always, always had to prove himself.
Hinata Shoyo was the boy who knew how to fight his darkness.
Kageyama Tobio was the boy who had lost against his darkness.
They were both teenagers who had been alone and weak before. But now they weren't. They brought out the best in each other. They brought each other to their limits.
Hinata Shoyo was scary. Scarier than anyone else because his thirst for growing stronger never stops. Nor it might ever.
Y/N was walking to the gates when she saw Yachi running to her.
"Senpai! The gym! Hinata and Kageyama!"
Y/N frowned before she ran to the gym and told Yachi to call Tanaka.
